Well the add stated it was DIP package. As you can see it at first glance looks like a dip package, except the leads are not a DIP package lead. I have also included a photo of what was used in the add for this part and it clearly shows a complete normal DIP part with the long DIP wire legs. The leads have been cut off and bent to be used as a surface mount part. I am not sending this back. I will have to buy or make a circuit board adapter so that these can be used and mounted like a true DIP package device. I think I have some 6 or 8 pin DIP Headers I can mount these to and make it work. The photo in the vendors add did show a full length DIP package.At this time there are no more available with this vendor. But when there is, be careful when you place an order, you might end up like me and get a DIP package but the leads are modified for a surface mount application. Not happy but I took a gamble. Out side of this issue, everything else was fine. Shipped and arrived on time and in fine condition. I am one who will not return items unless it is a very expensive item, so that is where I am at. I will make these work, and make the adapter board for it. But if you are not willing to do so, and your order turns out like mine, I guess you will be sending it back for a return and refund.
