- Multiple Applications: Glowing for several hours after absorbing enough light, they can be applied to various occasions such as daily apparel, Halloween costumes, stage costumes, pajamas, Christmas decorations, cross stitches, pillowcases and so on
- Tips:
- After exposing to the natural or artificial light, you can recharge the thread over and over again. Exposing the thread to light about 20 mins equals to 3-hour illumination.
- The brightness of the thread in the dark will vary according to the intensity of the natural or artificial light to which is the thread exposed.
- Usually a project with denser stitches or multiple outline stitches will have a better glow effect.
New brothread UV Color Changing Embroidery Machine Thread
- Product Description: Those thread colors change rapidly after being exposed to ultraviolet light, and gradually return to the original colors when there is no ultraviolet light for a few minutes. This color changing effect can occur repeatedly.
- How to Get the Best Color Changing Effect:
- The stronger UV light to which is the thread exposed, the better color changing effect you will get.
- Usually a project with denser stitches or multiple outline stitches will have more visible color changing effect.
- Lubricating the thread only with a non-staining silicone spray or sewers aid.
For a better using experience, we suggest you:
- Funny thread is a little tricky to deal with, we suggest to use large eye needle like SCHMETZ Topstitch 90/14 and Organ HAX1 SP 90/14 to reduce friction.
- Bleaching and steam ironing the thread is not recommended. Dry ironing is allowable, but Maximum Temperature should be no higher than 176° F.
- Washing the thread is allowable, but make sure that the Water Temperature should be not higher than 104° F.

The value is great for all the colors. They sewed very smoothly.Do not iron the thread. After I had finished my project, I ironed some interfacing on it. The heat from the iron removed/demolished stopped the glow in the dark.

I wish the threads had come labeled with the glow color, or had a little chart. The glow isn't that bright in the dark, but it does glow slightly. The threads mostly glow a similar color to each other, but it would be nice to have a little glow chart so you know which white thread glows with what tint of glowing color it changes into.

I used this glow in the dark thread on ghost quilts for my great nieces and great nephews. I also used a more expensive brand from a quilt shop. This thread worked much better as far as stitching, as well as the glow, than the more expensive quilt shop brand. I will definitely use it again.

Ich nehme für meine gesamten Stickereien das Garn von New Brothread, es war deshalb für mich keine lange Überlegung, auch das Leuchtgarn auszuprobieren.Leider kommt das Bild nicht so recht rüber.Man muss allerdings die Stickerei in einer lichtreichen Umgebung "aufladen". Zur Leuchtdauer kann ich leider nichts sagen, da ich nicht nachgesehen habe, wie lange sie anhält. Das Teil hängt an unserer Wohnungstür...Auf jeden Fall stimmt die Qualität, meine Maschinen, eine Janome Memory Craft 500 und eine Pfaff Creative 1.5 verarbeiten das Garn ohne Probleme.

Purchased this thread to make some glow in the dark gear for my service dog.Overall I’m very impressed with the quality for the price point. I use a husqvarna-Viking sewing and embroidery machine and while I like my equipment it is fussy about thread type, so I was skeptical of this product.I just stitched the items in the photo, and despite my machine needing some routine maintenance this thread fed beautifully and I experienced 0 breakage.While I would never depend on glow in the dark thread for visibility at night, I thought it would be interesting to decorate the vest panels in this way. It is true that a camera can make night photos like these appear more bright than they are in real life; however, in person this thread glows at nearly identical intensity as shown in my photo. The only color of the 4 utilized in my design that wasn’t quite as intense as it appears to be was the light purple thread. And even then it was clearly visible and readable.The effect doesn’t last long (a few minutes, tops), but IT LOOKS SO COOL for the time it does last.The thread yarns are well assembled, which I’m guessing is one the reasons this feeds so well, and because of this even the daylight version of this thread looks clean and smooth. And because the thread is so well put together, I can run my embroidery functions at full speed without any issue.As a long-time Gütermann and Sulky thread fan, I’m happy to say that these threads are not out of place on my thread rack. Absolutely will be buying this brand again when my thread stash needs refreshed, because I’m curious as to how their non-glowing threads fair in comparison.
