This changed our internet connection. We had spotty connection to include in our bonus room. Orbi now allows us to have fast internet speeds in every room of our house. Great purchase and solved our internet issues. Much better than the standard modems from service provider.

There are so many ORBI options amongst the myriad of router / satellite options. My first issue was I filtered by stars on Amazon so was given a choice of a few. I cross referenced some options the cable and internet technician gave me, my friends recommendations, and my own research online. I believe I got a decent system but the price was higher than expected. Worst part of the process was a week later the price discounted 20%. Also when filtering by stars again on Amazon, I found a few more options from ORBI for some reason. In the end, it’s easy to install once you download the software, plug it in, and sync the system. Took an extra day for it to properly sync with my outdoor security cameras but overall this mesh network is a much better system than the router with external expanders. Speed has held in the 75 mbs range on the satellite and for the direct router its well over 225 mbs consistently. Wireless connectivity was achieved and that’s all you can ask for. I’ve heard there are security issues but so far so good.

The worst product I purchased in 2024. While the coverage was decent when it worked, it was completely unreliable. Setup not as easy as others. In the first month, unstable, it disconnected multiple times in my 5,000-square-foot home, to be fair, a couple were weather related. The issue was not only that it disconnected but that it wouldn't regain a connection without hours of attention. I had to call their help desk repeatedly and even purchase a year-long support package. Every time it disconnected, I had to go through a tedious reset process involving their portal, DNS changes, and other technical steps I didn’t care to learn about. One time, I spent 12 hours on the phone just to restore my internet—not just the Orbi extenders, but my entire internet connection was affected due to the changes recommendedby the "help" desk. I own Arlo cameras, which have been flawless for over five years, but these Orbis were a nightmare. Unfortunately, I missed the 30-day return window by a week, so I am stuck with $400 worth of oversized paperweights.I eventually switched to Eeros and couldn’t be happier. Even after power outages, the internet and all my smart devices—Samsung Hub, Amazon Alexas, Arlo cameras, Google Nest cameras, Ecobee thermostats, lights, and plugs—reconnect seamlessly when the power is restored. I would never recommend this version of the Orbi extender to anyone.

The biggest thing to know —if tech isn’t your first language — you plug the main Orbi into your existing router box that’s plugged into the wall. The other Orbi is its “satellite” and helps the internet speed and connection on different floors or areas of the house. This is the WiFi part. This was the easiest home network system I’ve ever hooked up. I’m astounded signal strength is maintained everyone at max right now. The app made it super easy. Signal is FANTASTIC and we have a 4,000+ sq foot house. Only using 2 and strong from corner to corner.I got it all set up within an hour. I love being able to rename the network, label all the connected devices, and control my kid’s individual devices to limit screen time. There’s a pause button next to each connected device listed in the app.If you have a garage hooked to this network be sure to do the travel limits on the door after you change to the new network in your garage door opener app (it’s a safety feature)Then it will connect. This was the only hurdle I encountered. And found results with Reddit and a quick YouTube video.Netgear, I’m super happy so far. Thanks for making a solid product.

I replaced an older set of Orbi's (slower) with this new set. They are must faster and give me the full band width of my provider through out my home. Setup was easy as I had a learning curve from my original set. I did experience one problem: I have a long house. My internet connection comes into one end of the house. I set the main router there and put two satellite units inline down the centerline of the house. The second satellite unit (furthest away from the main unit) does not connect to the intermediate placed unit. Rather it connects to the main router--sometimes with 'good' reception and other times with 'poor' reception. After a couple of hours with Orbi tech help, I found out that the satellite units always tries to connect to the main router, even if another satellite is providing a stronger signal--supposedly 'this provides a faster connection.' Do not understand why this is the case since I do get a 'poor' connection to the main router at times on the second satellite unit. Looks like I wasted my money on getting a second satellite unit. Even with this problem, I am getting full bandwidth throughout the house.
