Consumer Cellular does not (yet) sell mobile hotspot units, but they can provide a sim for an unlocked unit -- with no guarantees, of course. We recently transferred service from Verizon, where we had several mobile hotspots running for our work-from home needs. We live in a rather remote area, but have good cellular coverage, and no cabled internet. The cellular networks have worked exceptionally well for us. CC usually uses AT&T or T-Mobile networks, so we had hopes for the Netgear device. We took a chance on this Netgear device when the Inseego Jetpack unit from Verizon crashed and burned 2 days after moving it over. Conspiracy theories aside, the Inseego unit was great, but gave us grief with the Consumer Cellular sim right off the bat. One Inseego unit is still working -- don't know why. But, the second Inseego unit is now ready for recycling.Got the Netgear unit within hours from Amazon, thankfully. Moved the CC sim to the unit, fired it up, allowed it to do a firmware update, and we're now off to the races. Everything is connecting well to the unit. It immediately found the proper APN for CC and I think it is working better than the old unit.We may yet have to upgrade the remaining Inseego unit - we'll see if it crashes. Although the Netgfear is a little pricey, its reliability, connection, and wifi coverage is excellent. We're back to work!Note we have not experienced the issues some others there have noted. We did not have to use Netgear's app to set things up; it was immediately accessible via our laptop browser with plenty of configuration options. The APN can be manually configured, if needed. So, we certainly have no complaints. Had this unit updated and running in minutes.

Purchased for use while travelling. Used on multiple wireless carriers, strictly on pay as you go plans. Set up with the carrier(s) of choice and simply switching the sim cards out as needed. Some locations require the use of a cellular booster, but that is location specific, not endemic to the device. Wifi signal is adequate for use inside and within a hundred feet or so of our RV. Battery life seems adequate and as advertised, so far. We can easily charge the device or run it without the battery while using shore power, inverted solar power, or just 12v. Quite happy with our purchase as we have the flexibility of switching between lesser expensive 5G mobile data plans, based on coverage area.

This is a great setup. Speeds are excellent with AT&T and Verizon. I have never tried T-Mobile. The setup was very easy. Just follow the Netgear instructions and you will be set. You can manage everything from the nighthawk screen, mobile app or web.

This review is for the AC1200, R6230 Router. While setting up, it gave indications that the wireless thru-put internet was iffy. Worked- over and eventually all came together and had internet (wireless and hardwired) to all devices. Some hours into the first day, some of the wireless-connected devices lost internet, but not network. Re-booted everything, changed some cables, and after several hours and lots of foul language from me, everything was back up and functioning. Three days into it, things were iffy off and on, with some devices getting errors/notifications of poor internet connection, but only wireless-connected devices--all wired (ethernet-connected) devices worked perfectly. Did some testing and found a 90% drop-off in internet speed (wireless vs ethernet)--tested with two different computers (one laptop and one desktop) using wireless then ethernet then wireless. Tests run with all devices within 36 inches of the router and used Ookla Speed test, all back-to-back. Huge degradation between ethernet and wi-fi speeds. Completely unacceptable. Returned (today) and Amazon is shipping me a replacement, which should arrive tomorrow. I'll install the new one and report back right here, adjusting my rating as necessary based on the results obtained with the replacement item,. More later...…9/12/2018....It's now "later", and I received the replacement router , installed and put it into service. Quite a difference from the first one---the installation was smooth, much quicker and with only one small problem which I believe I caused, so really, no problems. Up and running, all functions working, much less difference between wireless and wired speed and over-all, just what I had expected when I originally decided to replace my existing router with this model. I'm now (at least for the moment), quite happy with the device. I have had no problems, no indications of weak or unstable internet (as I had on the first one), so I'm raising my rating from one star to 4 stars, deducting one star based on the first one being bad out of the box. I'm also recommending this as a good buy, price-wise, notwithstanding my initial problems..If anything changes, I'll be baaaaack!!

Muy bueno. Excelente rango. Sin problemas con la señal de 5ghz como pasa con otros routers. Buenas opciones de configuración; como el apagar la señal de WiFi por horarios definidos por el usuario o acceder remotamente al router y a los archivos compartidos en el disco duro conectado.
