I like that it was well made and sturdy. I use it to cut fries and cactus and tomatoes.

I want to believe others' review, but the item I received has a problem. One pole of the two is slightly bended, so hard to push down. But Finally i got good replacement.

I have used the dicers from both Vollrath and Nemco and I like Nemco's better even though Vollrath's are taller, bigger and looks more professional and robust with bigger cutting area (5").My Vollrath 5.0 dicer user experience was not that great. I found out Vollrah not only does not offer warranty for buyers who use it only for non-commercial purpose but also the tips of their pusher block can be cut off easily and leave small black plastic pieces in the bowl mixed with the diced vegetables. If I was not careful enough, I could have eaten them without even knowing it because the cut-off pieces were so small to be noticed. On the other hand, not only Nemco's does not have Vollrath's silly warranty restriction for end users but also its guide rods design provides more robust support than Vollrath's. This is because Nemco places their guide rods diagonally across the square cutting area whereas Vollrath places their guide rods on the centers of the opposite sides of the square cutting area which causes side-wobbling and that explains why the cut-off tips on the Vollarth's pusher block are all located on the opposite end columns of the pusher block. So far, I have not found any tips of Nemco's pusher block that are cut off like Vollrath's case. I also likes its blade-only replacement option comparing with Vollrath's expensive whole blade and housing replacement.

This is huge! I live in a small old house with a little kitchen & this takes up half my counter. Nonetheless - it works great. I hesitate to make salads because of the chopping involved & this will come in very handy. Saves HOURS of time. It worked great on peppers, onions, tomatoes, & whole olives. Carrots took some strength - I cut the carrots lengthwise & then in half & had to pound the plunger with all my might to get the carrots to go through the blade grid. Then I had the BAD idea of putting sundried tomatoes on it to chop up - and the sundried tomatoes smashed into the rubber grid & smooshed into the blades - I won't do that ever again. I took the 3 pieces apart & blasted them in my bathtub with my shower hose because the head is extremely powerful, and that helped clear the gunk out of the rubber top & blades. I would imagine cheese would be a mess to cube with this too.I got the 3/8 inch & I think it is the perfect size for veges in salads. I did notice some pieces of onion & pepper where 3/8 inch think, but about an inch long. Not sure how that happened but you can always run them through the chopper again if needed. I got the Nemco Chopper 2 (the bigger one, with the bigger blade platform) but I think I could have gone with the Chopper 1 version with the smaller grid. You still have to do 'some' chopping (cut the onion in half or quarters, cut/ core the pepper or apple) to put this on the grid - and you would have to do this whether you use the big or the small one.

As a vegetarian, I'm constantly chopping or dicing something. I especially enjoy root veggies like beets and sweet potatoes. These are always a challenge to dice with a kitchen knife, not to mention dangerous. I cut my thumb quite severely while dicing a sweet potato with a knife last month and vowed to find a better way. The Nemco Easy Chopper II was the perfect solution! I only wish I had known about this thing years ago. Tonight, I peeled and quartered 3 large sweet potatoes and they passed effortlessly through the blades of the Nemco (see photo). I'm thrilled with this purchase!

This is my new favorite kitchen product. Food prep is so much easier, which allows me to want to add more fresh veggies in our meals. And my son can use it to dice his favorite apples or other fruits into kid friendly bites!!

You will never dice tomatoes or onions with a knife again! I made a HUGE bowl of pico de gallo in 1/4 the time it would have taken with a knife. Turned out just as good if not better. Still had to chop the cilantro and juice the lime by hand ;-)
