...I have purchased and used Neewer products for many years now, and find them to be reliable and good value for the buck. I bought this mainly for the barn-door light shade...but when I put my camera on it, I discovered a problem with one of the features. There is an adjustable wingnut to adjust the height of the opening on the barn-doors, depending on camera-body and lens. When the slide is lowered as far as it can go, the wingnut cannot lock that in place, as it bangs into the barn-door frame. I am looking into a solution to work around this, but it is a design-flaw.

I really like this rig. I would give it 4.5 Stars. The only thing I don't like is the plastic sun shade. They made a really nice rig then put a cheap plastic sun shade on it. It works OK, but takes away the quality look and feel of the rig. Other than that, it is really nice and is so much better feeling than the other stabilizers I have. I still need to add my field monitor, light, and mic to it, but just the feel of having two hands and a shoulder rest, make this so much better than just the standard U type and balanced stabilizer I have. Worth the money...but the cheap plastic sun shade is disappointing.

I use this with a Canon Vixia HF R800 video camera and it works great. Once I used it I wondered how I ever did without it. It allows smooth motion by holding the camera against your shoulder with the two-handed grip. With the R800s on-off button on the right-hand side, it was always hard not get camera shake, but with this unit, you can easily hold the handle with your left hand and bring your right up to stop recording.This is well made with lots of adjustabilities. The tripod screw on the R800 is off center but you can move the platform that holds the camera off center (by unscrewing the three bolts that hold it in place)All in all a great product for a great price.

Its great quality, but it was not designed with much room or ability to customize like other rigs just above this price point. I wish the shoulder pad rested on top of my shoulder as I find I have to hold the whole thing pressed firmly against my chest rather than letting it support itself atop my shoulder. I find I use it mostly with the shoulder stabilizer detached and the grips flipped upside down. The barn doors are cheap and I don't even use them as they are flimsy. My Neewer Follow focus fit very well. Needs a cold shoe mount for external mics.

Excellent shoulder rig. Comfortable to hold for a firm grip with dual handle bars and a padded shoulder place. Well built and fully customizable with the barn doors. I really like how versatile it is. They're really great for shooting in environments where I can't control the lighting and I can adjust each individual door and the matte black does wonders for reflecting. I've used it to shoot a couple of music videos and concerts and haven't had any issues using it. The follow focus system is on point and functional, tight and solid. I feel very comfortable strapping my camera into it. Professional filming set up, enhances my stabilization when filming while moving.

This rig is superb, seriously. It looks just like it does in the pictures. The frame is made of metal but it's padded in all the right places so it's comfortable to wear and carry. The plastic barn doors work supremely well for light control. All the pieces come separately but no fear, installation was faster and easier than I initially expected. What's great about it not being one piece is that it can easily be dismantled when finished so it's real easy to pack up and take anywhere with me. Surprisingly lightweight and easy to hold and carry with the shoulder bracket and handle bars. I would fully recommend it, it's adjustable and sturdy and makes filming safer and faster.

This rig takes my camera from an average joe to movie star status! It's so useful and intuitive. The weight of it balances really well on my shoulder and it's comfortable since it's padded so it doesn't hurt or jab me and I get complete control with the gripped handles. My camera sits really well inside on the threaded plating and stays securely put. Barn doors work super well for controlling the lighting. It's super solid when put all together and since all the pieces can be separated it makes for compact takedown for storage and travel. So functional and the price is hard to beat.

Das Rig ist durchweg sehr wertig und stabil verbaut. Das hätte ich - wenn ich ganz ehrlich bin - zu diesem Preis nicht erwartet. Eine positive Überraschung. Anders als das Rig selbst, das komplett aus Alu ist, ist die Matte-Box aus Plastik (Ausnahme: Das Verbindungskreuz zum Rig. Das ist ebenfalls aus Aluminium), scheint aber sehr stabil zu sein.Die Flügeltore lassen sich nicht stufenlos verstellen, sondern rasten an vordefinierten Stellen ein. Das mag für den einen oder anderen ein Nachteil sein. Vorteil ist, sie halten so wie sie eingestellt sind.Die Führung der Matte-Box auf den Stangen ist sehr schwergängig. Da muss man die Schrauben fast komplett aufdrehen und trotzdem sehr gefühlvoll vorgehen, um nicht sofort die matte Lackierung zu zerkratzen. Ich bin allerdings überzeugt, dass Kratzer im "Eifer des Gefechts" beinahe unmöglich zu vermeiden sind. Speziell wenn man während eines Drehs öfter mal Objektive wechselt, denn da muss - je nach Objektiv - die Matte-Box durchaus bewegt und ggf. neu eingestellt werden.Die Schraube um die Kamera an der Adapterplatte zu befestigen ist (anders als bei offenbar vorherigen Rezensenten) bei meinem Rig absolut lang genug. Die Kameras (in meinem Fall die Canon EOS 700D und Canon EOS 550D) halten bombenfest. Allerdings ist bei meinen Kameras ein Akkuwechsel nur möglich, wenn die Kameras vom Rig heruntergeschraubt werden.Befestigen des Rigs auf einem Stativ ist ohne Probleme möglich.Ich bin gespannt, wie restlichen Schrauben - die offenbar bei einigen Probleme bereitet haben - in Zukunft halten. Sie scheinen fest zu halten. Falls sich da was ändert, werde ich die Rezension anpassen.Ergonomie: Das Schulterpolster passt pefekt. Alles ist individuell auf die Person, die die Kamera führt einstellbar. Klasse!Was man vielleicht anmerken muss: Durch die Matte-Box und dadurch, dass man normalerweise beide Hände am Rig hat, sind Kameraeinstellung und Dinge wie das Scharfstellen natürlich schwierig. Aber das sollte eigenlich selbsterklärend sein, und dafür gibt es Schärfezieheinrichtungen etc.Insgesamt bin ich sehr, sehr positiv überrascht. Filmen mit kleinen Kameras, speziell mit DSLRs, die ja eigentlich nicht dafür gebaut sind, wird duch dieses Rig um Klassen einfacher und die Ergebnisse - wenn man ein wenig geübt hat - deutlich film-ähnlicher. Der große Camcorder wird jetzt noch öfter nicht verwendet werden.Es war bestimmt nicht das letzte Gadget, dass ich mir von Neewer geholt habe.

This shoulder rig is great!. I purchased it and it was delivered in two days with prime. It added stability during filming. I am shooting with a Canon 70D and was able to use multiple lenses. You can adjust the barn doors to fit your lens. I was able to fit a canon 10-18mm and a canon24mm lens with no problem. There are some Ikea like instructions for assembly but it is not too hard to assemble. The barn doors are plastic and clamp on to the rig and will probably break over time or from too much wear and tear but I believe Neewer sells the parts separate. If you are using a light attachment, the top barn door will cast a shadow onto your shot so your best bet is to buy a "y" adapter to give more height to your light. For the price, I really recommend this product.
