Works as expected and then some. I have this attached to my ASUS monitor and I have my lights, and DSLR attached to the top for easy recordings. Feels very durable and I have had no problems with it.

Supporto molto robusto e ben fatto. Sostiene egregiamente D850 + ottica pesante + Battery grip.Posizionamento rapido attacchi molto comodo. Montato su un vecchio Manfrotto va alla grande.Ovviamente non bisogna esagerare con lo sbalzo solo da una parte.

Good value: Well made, seems a high quality item (time will tell). Attached it to my manfrotto tripod and does the job of holding a Canon 5D Mk II with a 100mm macro (quite a weight) to take photos of negatives on a light box.

This was just...bad. Couldn't tighten the clamp enough to keep it from moving. Consider Manfrotto instead. Some Neewer products are okay--this is not one of them.

Neewer is a well known Chinese company that is known for their budget gear, but they do also release some higher end ones. This one is more of their quality ones. It's a tool that can add greater value to your production setup.Turn your standard tripod to give it more versatility; being able to tilt and add extra accessories are great (up to 22 lbs)

How have I managed without one of these for so many years? It makes some hard jobs so easy. I am thinking especially of the difficulties when photographing a page from a very large book, or a photo, or many other items for which the camera needs to be placed above the subject, pointing down. With a very large item, to get the camera centrally placed above it, the tripod legs intrude into the edges of the image. However, with this boom arm, problem solved! It screwed straight onto the top of my tripod, from which I had removed the ball head. I could have screwed the camera onto the end of the boom arm, but the profile of the arm is not round, so it cannot be rotated, so I mounted the ball head taken off the tripod onto the boom and initially put the camera onto that, so that I could rotate the camera to exactly horizontal. Though the tripod used had a centre column, adjusting the height of this precisely for copying work is difficult, so I then mounted a Novoflex Castel-L focussing slide onto the ball head and the camera onto that. Precise focussing was then easy. Getting the camera exactly above the centre of the image was also easy, thanks to the boom arm.IMPORTANT! Before attaching the camera to the boom , I hung a bag containing a weight similar to the that of the camera onto the other end of the boom arm.I did a quick, simple test with a photo as subject. A quick grab shot with the phone gives an idea of the setup to copy this object. This boom arm was an item from Amazon Warehouse, returned by a customer, and the description warned that the box was damaged and there were some scratches. Well, the previous purchaser obviously found opening boxes a challenge and so managed to do a lot of damage to the box. However, this is just a brown cardboard box for use when posting the item, so the damage was not particularly important. (See pictures of the box in someone else’s review.) It’s difficult to see how the previous purchaser managed to scratch the boom in two places, however he/she did. However, this was less obvious than I had feared, and as the purchase price was a fraction under 53% of the normal price, I decided that this was reasonable and that the Amazon Warehouse description was fair.On the boom arm that I received, the bottom socket for mounting the boom onto a tripod is ⅜ inch, not ¼ inch, as reported by one reviewer. The arm comes with a small instruction manual in English and Chinese, and the English (at least) is printed far too small to be readable comfortably. It indicates that the item is supplied in parts and has to be assembled by the purchaser, however, the one that I received came already assembled. Was this done by the previous purchaser? Given his/her incompetence at opening cardboard boxes, this seems unlikely (although perhaps this might account for the minor scratching on the boom). More significantly, the shape of the polystyrene in the box seems to indicate that it is supplied already assembled.Would I buy one of these at full price? Now that I have handled it and used it, I can say a firm YES. It is well designed, well made and works extremely well. Incidentally, in the one that I received the ⅜ inch to ¼ inch adapters are made of metal, not of plastic as stated by one reviewer.

The product does what it say it does. But, it’s not as robust as you might expect. If you have multiple cameras on this one is going to shake the other if you touch one. I had a timeplase set up on one camera, and taking long exposures on the other camera. Needless to say, the one I wasn’t working on had vibration shown in image.

This is an incredibly well engineered tripod extender to hold two cameras easily, or a camera and a light. It's super solid bar, weighs a few pounds, and is a cylinder-shape that has three flattened surfaces, to not allow slipping, were it just a completely round bar.The 3/8" mounting bolts easily fit into my tripod heads. As a bonus, there is a ring or dial under each one, to rotate the 3/8" bolts, and make it a snap to mount a tripod head or light onto the bolts.Just balance the weight, lock it down, and your equipment is safe-be sure your tripod legs can handle about 30 pounds of equipment, or whatever load you use. While I'll rarely need it; when I will need it, it'll easily replace having two separate tripods taking up a lot of square footage, when space is tight. that's worth a lot to me!I didn't expect this to be as well constructed as it is. This is not the first superb item I've gotten from Neewer, nor will it be the last.

This is for small setups, dont expect a crane for a movie production. Perhaps a streaming setup, lighting box, small rooms or new angles for a video record.Sturdy and quality materials. I wish it could include a head mount, but you can't always get what you want. But remember if you are going to use a heavy gear like cameras with big lenses and transmitters... Have a good counter weight that keeps your tripod on ground

Works well for taking top down photos in a light box for product photos> I don't like that it is primarily 3/8-16 threaded on all internal and external threads and the 1/4-20 adapters have very little surface area to stabilize what is mounted, the reverse would have worked better also a counter weight hook on the back end would have been nice especially with a heavy lens on the camera end. Over all it is it is a great value and very well constructed. Only the minor issues listed hve kept me from giving it 5 stars across the board.

I thought this was going to be an easy review to write. I have owned the longer version of this and use it almost every time I shoot a video in my studio. I leave it mounted on a tripod (mounted with wheels) with my camera in the center and an LED light panel on either end. I also attach a field monitor and sometimes a shotgun mic. The rig is quite easy to move around the studio. The only thing I wished was that it could sometimes be longer or shorter. Since either can be used by itself, and they can be mounted end to end it solves both problems and is an improvement on the concept. Of course, if I do mount them end to end they will have to be supported by two tripods. Otherwise, it would be way too unstable.First, they have improved the rail. My older version has a wider diameter, cylindrical rail. I always worried that the heads might slip causing it to fall off balance and everything might hit the ground. It never happened, but I was always worried it might. This one is narrow and hexagonal. The heads slide along the rail, but they don’t tilt forward or back once they are on the rail. This offers considerably more stability.Another improvement is the release at the end of the rail. This allows the heads to be removed and adjusted to a new angle if you need them tilted forward or back. They can also be easily re-ordered. On the opposite end is a fixed 3/8” screw mount that can be used to attach more equipment or to mount the arm vertically.Another improvement is the mounting head. Once it is mounted to a tripod it has a 360o horizontal rotation and 180o vertical rise. The head also has a bubble level. It comes with a carrying bag (maybe neoprene?) which is good for travel and storage. About the only thing this lacks is adapters for 1/4” mounts. This means that if you want to use this with equipment that has 1/4” threads you will need to purchase the adapters. One word of warning. This thing can easily cause your tripod to become off-balance and fall over. That could mean disaster for your equipment. Be very certain that everything is balanced and weighted properly.Overall, this thing is a terrific addition to my studio. I already know I will love it and get plenty of use out of it.
