I got this light because I needed something portable for self-tape auditions when I’m away from home. Paired with a pocket LED light, it gives me a simple two point lighting setup that makes a huge difference. No more looking ghastly in my self-tapes.When I’m not using it for travel, I’ve started using it as a kicker light, which I just learned about. That small change really improved the overall quality of my auditions. The light itself is easy to use, has adjustable colour temperature, and the brightness is solid.If you need something lightweight and versatile for self-tapes or video work, this is a great option.

PROS:-the unit is well made out of what seem like high industrial quality materials-the control/setting interface at the back is very well designed, intuitive and easy to use-the magnets at the back of the tube are strong-the included 1/4” adapter plate (with standard Arri locating pin holes) has its own magnets which make the connection with the unit even stronger and sturdy (it’s a magnet to magnet connection)-the unit does not emit any noise, this is consistent at every dimming setting-the actual color temperature is very close to the stated CCT settings on the display-the battery run time is as advertised (50 minutes at 100% setting).CONS:-the green/magenta LED color hue is not consistent at all CCT settings. The warmer the CCT setting , the more the hue shifts towards magenta. When performing a custom white balance on a DSLR camera at 3200K setting it showed the camera adding green to compensate-when charging, the usb-c plug location interferes with mounting the tube flush into a surface using magnets- the battery indicator is highly inaccurate: when the internal battery was showing 0% charge I connected it to a USB-C adapter and it started charging as expected, BUT when I briefly unplugged it to change the charging location, the indicator went from 2% to 28% literally within just second (after just 4 minutes of charging time total from 0%). That can’t be true.- the diffusion material of the tube is of a quite weak strength, not dense enough to fully diffuse the inner LED strip. Because of that the tube is quite directional: it is much brighter when looking at it from the front than from the sides. This also means the tube is not as soft as it could be as there are hot spots in it.- the battery section has fairly sharp edges on the inner side, it feels like over time it could lead to premature wear and possible puncture of the tube when folding it for storage- there’s no pump provided in the kit and no suggestion of what pump is compatible. It’s so obvious that it should be included, even the online manual states that it actually is included (as per the attached screen grab of it).- once mounted, changing the settings of the unit is tricky or impossible because of the location of the controls.

Dimmer then I thought it would be but good enough, just a note, this is definitely a Inkee manufactured air tube, interface is that of inkee products. The inkee firmware app even recognizes it.

I'll start by saying I love the idea of this thing. Having an inflatable bi-color LED light that packs and stores easily is a cool idea. This specific light has a decent level of brightness, but don't expect it to be your main light for most projects. The light does get pretty hot as well, so you'll need to watch out for that. This category of LED lighting is fairly new and has a lot of room to grow, but I think there's enough value here to at least consider getting one and stashing it in your lighting kit for whenever you might need it.

This is a review for the NEEWER 21W Handheld LED Tube Light 35.5"/90cm, Bi Color Portable Inflatable TPU Video Lighting, 2700-6500K 1300Lx/0.5m 12 Effects CRI95 2500mAh Battery, for Studio Photography Video Recording, GC21B.This product features an inflatable body with an internal strip of LEDs. It has a control panel that turns the light on and off, adjusts the color temperature (in Kelvin, not a spectrum of colors), and changes the brightness. I purchased it to enhance product photography for my reviews. I have attached a "before" and "after" shot of a water bottle for comparison. While I am still learning to maximize its potential, the difference in image quality suggests that, with some practice, this light will be an excellent tool.The build quality is excellent. The inflatable tube is made of reasonably thick plastic, making it easy to inflate and durable.I initially didn't realize it was inflatable when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly surprised by this feature. When deflated, it folds easily and fits into the provided storage bag, which measures 17.5 cm x 25.5 cm (6.9 in x 10 in). Fully inflated, it measures approximately 87 cm (34.3 in) in length and has a roughly round shape with a circumference of 24.5 cm (9.6 in) or a diameter of 7.8 cm (3.1 in). The light is very lightweight at just 205 grams (7.2 oz), mostly due to the electronics and battery rather than the tube itself. It includes straps on the back for mounting and a loop on the top for hanging. There is also a USB-C port for charging. While everything appears to be sealed against moisture, I have not tested its water resistance. Inside, two rows of LEDs provide bright, even illumination.The inflation port features a one-way valve that must be depressed before air can enter. While inflating it by mouth is possible, I strongly recommend using a small hand pump instead. Moisture from breath could accumulate inside the tube over time, potentially causing issues.Would I return this product after using it for a few days? No way. It performs well, is thoughtfully designed, and has been effective in my limited testing. I look forward to using it for product reviews in the years to come.
