The wooden tripod stand features wooden round legs, each with solid brass fittings and a screw release to let you adjust the height, and the brass chain holds the three wooden legs together so the telescope can maintain its position.
HOW TO FOCUS
1. Set a target near 300 meters
2. With a firm but gentle grip, hold 1st tube piece of the telescope
3. slowly by moving focus screw in both directions using fingers, focus the target image
4. Once you are able to focus small distance objects, you can look for the larger distances.

They live on a ranch in Texas and the stars are so vivid at night and the wildlife is amazing in the day time alone to edge of the wooded area and the creek.

Such a pretty telescope. We live on the side of a mountain and it's great for viewing down and across the valley. Not sure about star gazing...but for land viewing, it's fine. The box it comes in does emit quite a putrid odor, but if you unbox outside (and I wiped it down), it doesn't carry the smell inside. Would buy again.

This telescope was exactly what I was looking for to use in a small window nook in my place. Gives the vintage vibe I wanted and works pretty well. Just wish I could get more clear nighttime skies to use it more! The only gripe is the horrible smell from unboxing. Luckily, the corner I use it in has a wall plug air freshener, which helped the odor dissipate within a day or two.

Decent optics for casual viewing. Well finished as a decorator piece. Vertical azimuth a little loose but overall very good value for the money.

Looks great, fits our home decor well and while it dies not actually work we didn’t expect it would. It’s decker. Wish they would spend a bo]it more effort on the tripod.

This is a gorgeous vintage looking telescope that looks fantastic in our living room, overlooking our spectacular ocean view. I've had hours of enjoyment so far gazing at the ships in the Straight of Juan de Fuca. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants the authentic vintage look when buying a telescope.

Solid product and well packaged. its more of a decorative piece rather than functional. I bought it hoping it would satisfy both. The bullets on the product description are misleading - first bullet states 42x magnification , the last bullet states 15x . What is it??On initial use , it seems its 15x which is rather disappointing.
