Good fresh sprouts with quick five-day results. I grow my own to rule out the possibilities of harmful bacteria. The key to successful alfalfa sprouts is room temperature and rinsing with cool water twice daily.

My wife and I are on a major health kick and these have been a fantastic addition to our daily routine. They're simple to grow and the kids love watching them as they sprout. It's a cool and simple process. We add them to salads, sandwiches, or just eat them raw out of the container. This is a minimal effort product with a lot of benefits. Very high quality. We use this specific brand for broccoli sprouts as well.

Sprouts Alfalfa Seeds – 16Oz Certified Organic Sprouting Seeds – Non-GMO have grown in three days rather than the five days in the directions on YouTube. I am using a sprouting jar with a lid and screen on top.One and half teaspoon of seeds into jar, cover with water and soak for overnight to twenty-four hours, drain water and rince twice (I put this water on my house plants.) Drain water, turn jar over several times so seeds coat the side and turn upside down in a dark cupboard. (I keep a shallow bowl under it for drips.) Repeat the rince every morning and every evening. When jar is full of sprout, set it in the sun until they turn green. Then put all sprouts in a large bowl of cold water and I use a small strainer to skim the seed pods off the top. Lay out on a paper towel to dry for a couple of hours and then store in a green vegetable storge bag. They last about a week and are wonderful on my favorite sandwich of avacado, cream cheese and sprouts on rye bread and many other sandwiches, eggs, soups and much more.

I love having fresh alfalfa sprouts for salads and to add a little crunch to sandwiches. It is so easy and the germination rate is great. I'll be a repeat customer when this batch runs out.

I heard about how nutritious sprouts are and how good they are for detoxing on a recent Mike Adams episode (The Health Ranger) and ordered these seeds the next day. I also ordered the wide mouth canning jars with strainers I wanted to grow them in, and they all came a few days later. The directions on the package are easy to follow. I put one teaspoon of seeds in each jar. I soaked the seeds for about five or six hours, and then rinsed the sprouts every three to six hours after that. They sprouted within two to three days.It was a bit overwhelming having to rinse the sprouts so often in the middle of the night - I was literally carrying the jars upstairs every night! However, after a few nights of this, I realized I could skip the middle of the night rinse by wrapping the jars in a plastic bag every night which holds the water in and keeps the sprouts moist, so they don't dry out! This made it feel less of a chore, and now it is just a commitment to rinse them every couple of hours when I am in the kitchen. This takes only about a minute or two and has become part of my normal routine already. This picture was taken exactly one week from the day that I started them. I did take three servings from the jar on the right for salads, which is why the sprouts are lower in that jar. They tasted great in the salad, combined with carrots, celery, mushroom, and ranch dressing, by the way. They are crisp, with a strong, fresh flavor.I had tried hydroponic gardening last winter and found it was rewarding but a bit frustrating waiting almost a month for the lettuce to grow big enough to eat.In comparison, it has only been a week, and already I have enough sprouts for a dozen salads when combined with other vegetables!I would highly recommend these sprouts if you have the ability to keep them on a kitchen counter where you remember to rinse them regularly. You may be able to keep them moist during the day the way I do at night - by wrapping them in a plastic bag (like a shopping bag) if you are not able to rinse as often because you work full time - this does keep the moisture in the containers, so they do not dry out for eight or ten hours! This is definitely a good buy, and fun too!
