bought to replace the rope on the big pole for cats. The first time tried to secure with stapler, didn't work and didn't make sure it was tight enough. The second time used the hot glue gun, which worked really good, holding the rope very nice, just used a little of glue in the top and in the bottom. The cats are using it for around 4 months. You see the rope moved slightly in the spot where they both reach, but holding really good.

This is a great replacement to the worn out cat scratching post I bought a couple of years ago, instead of buying a new scratching post. Just replace the worn out rope. I suggest using a garden glove if your soft hands are prone to get splinters. Get the rope as tight as you can and use a glue gun for each couple of turns for integrity.

So far I am not impressed but it if holds up I will give it more stars. Like someone else said, 33 FT does NOT go far. I tried two different glues which didn't hold before I resorted to using hot glue. As a crafter, I know the limitations of hot glue and really didn't want to use it. Hot glue melts and separates when it gets hot so if your scratch post is by a window with direct sunlight or near a heating vent, the glue will not hold for long. The process of gluing this rope was tedious and took me almost 2 hours and 23 glue sticks!!!! The rope itself is very "flaky" with little pieces falling off if you just rub your hand over it so I am concerned that this is not going to last long with the cat scratching on it. The post I covered does look better and the rope did cover the torn up part. My cat is not an aggressive scratcher (took almost 18 months for her to destroy the area I covered) so we will see how long this lasts but I am thinking there is going to be a big mess of little filaments of rope all around the floor. I will update my review once she starts using it.

I have a small cat tree and I needed to replace the rope since the cats use it so much. For 1 post you definitely need to order 2 of them. The pictures you see online for this item, 33ft definitely won't complete it. But great product and great

We keep this stuff on deck for redoing our cat towers. They're pretty durable; I like that it's a wider rope, so you aren't wrapping the pole 5 million times. It looks good and my cats approve!

I should have read closer to the length of cord. Thought that i was receiving more. Seemed to have done the job though as cat likes it, ripped parts of pole are replaced and it looks better. I will order more when necessary.

Used to replace a cat tree, they did smell like oil or tar for a bit. Cat destroyed the original Jute that came with the cat tree. This brand is much thicker and there's not as much "mess" from the rope shredding. I would buy again.

This makes repairing the scratching posts on our cat tree so easy! Premade cat trees can be very expensive and your cats are unlikely to care how much they cost when they scratch them apart. We currently have two adult cats and two foster kittens who scratched the heck out of the cat tree every single day and, as you know if you have cats, they will eventually scratch through or unravel the scratching post ropes and if you decide not to replace them, I guarantee the cats will scratch through the cardboard or wood underneath and eventually the whole thing Will need to be trashed.Using this product is very easy when used with a non-toxic wood glue and will add at least months and maybe years to your cat tree. We lathered on a thin layer of nontoxic wood glue and then stapled the end of the rope onto the support tube. Then you just need to unroll the rope, keeping the layers tight and then stapling at the other end. Allow some time for the glue to cure and you’re done. It’s very easy and your cats will show their appreciation by tearing it apart again. Lol
