I had what appeared to be mineral stains on my walk in steps as well as the liner. One application, following the instructions and the stains are gone! The water actually looks clearer than ever. I will buy again!

Atlanta had a ridiculous amt of rain this winter. I have monthly cover and chem svcs from my pool co., but was not surprised when they opened my pool 4/24 and there were brown scale stains scattered all over my entire vinyl liner. There was so much rain and constant standing water w/organic debris on our cover, 1xmonth cover svc couldn’t keep up...We purchased the home w/pool in 2014. Pool is probably 30+ years old. We inherited a couple of corner stains thatI could never vac or brush out. I figured we’d just live w/them.I felt so defeated when I started the pool vac and none of the stains budged! I thought it would be a liner replacement for sure!So I researched “brown scale, pool liner stains”I found this product, and saw many before and after shots. Still skeptical, I ordered 2lbs.I shut off my pump, dumped it and scattered it across the pool. The next morning? EVERY SINGLE surface except the sides was completely clean!I reordered 2 more lbs, which I sprinkled all around the edges to clean the side walls and behind ladder. It’s been about 8 hours now, pump off, and the brown scale is fading fast!If you have an issue w/brown scale from organic materials.. leaf, pinestraw stains from winter? Buy this stuff! It’s so easy and inexpensive.

This product really worked for me. I had orange rust-looking stains on all white stairs and moldings in my pool. The water has been tested for metals 3 times but nothing ever comes up in the results. I had been using the Leslie's brand stain remover every three months or so, but at almost $50 a bottle I had to find an alternative. I was skeptical at first but purchased this product anyway. I completely ignored the directions and added half the bottle to the water with the pump running. Mostly around the edge, on the stairs and in the direct current of the return lines for disbursement . I let it run for it's normal amount of time that day (8 hrs) and noticed the staining was lighter the next morning. On the second day I added the other half of the bottle, brushed the entire pool and let it work it's magic again. I also added the Metal Free liquid from the same manufacturer towards the end of the second day. On the third day I was shocked. All white moldings and stairs were bright white. I then back-washed the filter. My water is crystal clear and my stairs are still bright white a week later. Will be purchasing again quarterly or so until I can find out what is causing these stains in my pool.

My pool was looking awful but I didn't even notice how bad it had gotten until a huge orange leaf-shaped stain showed up. It was then that I spoke with our pool guy (the one who's been coming once a week for the past 18 months) who said "Yeah, your last pool guy really let your pool go". I did my own research about stains and learned about Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to remove iron stains. I did a little test in my pool using a vitamin C tablet and Voila! the stain lifted in that area. I also saw YouTube videos showing the trifecta of StainFree, Metal Free, and Cu Lator. I asked my pool guy about it and he had no idea what I was talking about. He kept trying to use muriatic acid to lift the big stain and it was completely useless. So I bought the three products on Amazon and gave it a go. (Stain Free is ascorbic acid-- I could have just bought ascorbic acid but I wanted to have the pool-cleaning directions that came on the product and price-wise it was about the same.)I don't have a way to test chlorine level so I couldn't really follow the directions completely but since it had rained a TON all week and it had been 6 days since the pool guy was there, I figured the chlorine level was probably low enough to continue.Well, my pool now looks incredible. The giant bad stain is completely gone. There are still a few stains here and there in the pool but very minor compared to what it was. Take a look at the before and after pics. The first one is just after I put a little Stain Free at one end. The second pic is after pouring more over the whole step. It gradually lifted the stains. The final pic is two days later after doing the Stain Free, Metal Free, and placing a Cu Lator bag in the skimmer.I highly recommend these product!

I have a 40x20 inground pool with a vinyl liner. I noticed at the end of last year the skimmer frames, steps, return jets, and main drain housing were all getting a slightly reddish/brown tint. My water is regularly monitored and kept balanced, but still the stains would not go away. I was looking on YouTube and saw a video where a guy cleaned a small section of his pool using a vitamin C tablet as a test to determine if a stain was of metal origin. I was curious so I tried the vitamin C test on my pool liner and it instantly turned a very tiny section back to the wonderful blue the liner should be. So I ordered two containers of the Stain Free. I let the chlorine drop down as instructed on the product then added the stain free directly to the pool. Not being a real patient guy I spent a couple of hours brushing and rubbing to see if I could help the product do it's job. I woke up the next morning and only the areas where I had brushed thoroughly showed any improvement, but most of my pool stilll looked as bad as it did when I started. I did notice the flow through the filter was slightly impeded so I backwashed the pump and went to work. I came back approximately 10 hours later and went back out to my pool to see if there had been any improvement. I was shocked. The steps, skimmer frames, return jets and all of the parts that are supposed to be white looked brand new. The liner was completely void of any of the stains which were there when I had left for work that morning. The pool had it's shimmer back. I will use this product again (I have already bought two more containers) and for me the results could not have been better.
