I put it in a sock and rubbed on the stairs. Those stains came out. Then I dumped it in the pool close to the other stains. I ran the filter 24/7 and the pool got cloudy for about a week and the stains are still there. Great if you can rub it on the stains but not for widespread stains.

Had reddish discoloration on the steps for my pool so I guess I have iron in the water that reacted to the chlorine. The discoloration would not brush off or anything. I was a little hesitant to use this stuff with some of the other reviews but it worked like a charm. The steps went from discolored back to very bright white. I just poured this stuff directly onto the steps, brushed it a little and let it sit overnight. In the morning there was nothing for me to vacuum up or anything.Mine is a vinyl pool.

My husband and I bought our first home this February. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet the owners at the signing. The home comes with a pool. While it initially looked properly winterized, upon further inspection, all of the jugs were deteriorating. Actually falling apart. We took the cover off 3 weeks ago. After having to replace the pump, buy née chemicals, and 2 rechargeable vacuums, the water was crystal clear, but the sand at the bottom was about an inch thick. I ended up finding an old manual vacuum that they left us which worked 100% better than the $200 roomba one lol. Long story short, I did eventually get the bottom clean. However, there were marks at the bottom that I'd never seen in my parents pool growing up. After some research I came across this product. There's a review photo that looks just like our photo, and for only $20, we gave it a shot. I put it in once it came, having not ran the pool at all that day due to the thunderstorms. The next morning, I couldn't see the stains unless I walked up and looked for them!!! We bought one more bottle, I did the same thing, and now you can only see a small outline if you know exactly where to look and strain your eyes. Finally, bright blue water and ready for the summer. Give it a shot! (Sorry I don't have any before photos!!)

We had several rust stains in our pool from nails that had fallen into the pool while we had our roof replaced. This got several of the stains off very quickly but some of the ones that were in deeper water did not come up since the powder dissolves so quickly. Will have to order a second one in hopes that it finishes the job

After cleaning and opening my pool a few weeks ago, we noticed horrible stains over the entire liner! The pool is 18x36 and no easy thing to scrub and scrub, but we did. To no avail. It was embarrassing having people over and we figured we would just skip all our pool parties this year and save for a new liner next year. I ran across this product and the price seemed very reasonable to give it a try, so I ordered it. Yesterday afternoon I turned the pump off, started sprinkling it all around the pool, and brushed everywhere. I woke up 12 hours later thinking maybe the staining looked a little lighter, or was that just wishful thinking...? 2 more hours went by and yes, it was definitely lightening a bit. A few more hours and our mouths started dropping open. We're now at 18 hours and we cannot believe our eyes. The stains are completely gone! I wouldn't have thought it could ever make my pool look like this again. Definitely a miracle product!!!

This product worked beautifully for our fiberglass pool! We had already used one stain treatment that had been recommended by the pool store, and our stains came back within days. It was also a chemical product. I like that this is natural & took away every single bit of staining in our pool. It did eat up all our chlorine but I was able to handle that without any further issues. I also put a Culator packet in our skimmer basket to hopefully absorb any metals and prevent staining from returning. Very very happy with this product!Edit/update: Our stains did come right back as soon as I rebalanced the pool water. We did not use a metal sequestrant in addition to this ascorbic acid. Next time we will, that seems to be the trick according to my research!

Our above ground pool vinyl liner was 100 % covered in copper staining from having too much copper in our pool by imbalance. Entire liner was a brown/iron looking blackish mess. We thought we would have to replace liner. Bought this stuff and followed directions and it worked like a dream. Our liner looks brand new, it removed every single stain in about 8 hours. Couple of things. You must turn pump off to let it settle to bottom and do a light scrub with a pool broom/brush to activate. Your ph balance must be balanced at the right level. After an 1hr. Then turn your pump on. People who are leaving their pump on are not letting the product settle on the stain. Finally, if this does not work, then chances are you have a non metal stain and need to apply a different product. It doesn't require scrubbing, just a light brush. It does work....on metal stains. Great value for the money.

Edit 12/19/24: It still works like a charm every time. Throw your chlorine tablets in there let that do its thing and after a month, it’ll start showing signs of a problem, half bottle of this, takes care of it. And by the way, those black chunks you see in my photo, those were pieces of screen, remnants of hurricane Milton.Original post: I have a rubber pool liner, and there was a brownish film on the surface of the liner that does not scrub off. I worked with the Pool store locally that gave me a product that would supposedly remove it and it did not work, I put this in the pool and it started removing it immediately. In the picture, you can see the clear, white steps, and at the top of the photo on the wall, you can see some discoloration, that discoloration was darker and covered the whole pool, I should’ve took a before photo.
