I have a couple of guitars and when the weather changes, summer to winter, the actions of the guitars sometimes changes. This Guage helps me adjust the guitars so they all play consistently.

I bought this set to measure the action on one of my guitars. I made small tweaks to that one, and ended up setting up two others using these tools. They are very easy to use thanks to clear markings and instructions. I also watched some setup videos they have on their website. Thanks to these I found some setup issues that I was able to correct myself with great results.

Was learning to do setups on guitar and bass since I figure I should know how if I play. MusicNomad was the recommended brand of tool for adjustments, and this little pack here really was what I needed. Easy to use and very clear to read. Pair it up with a guide and you'll be golden.

Pretty good couple of tools, has guides for "recommended" settings. Not sure who recommended what since Gibson and Fender have their own specs. However, I set my Epiphone Les Paul pretty quickly and easily.I sort've have no idea what I'm doing, and winging the heck out of it. But these tools definitely do help.

Then again, I have needed reading glasses since 2006.This is a great package that will help you STOP sending your guitar or bass to the Tech and paying all that money for what is really a much simpler process than you might imagine.Over the past three years, I have struggled constantly to try to do my own setups. Every time it has ended in frustration and a trip to the Guitar Tech for a proper setup. So when I saw a video from Music Nomand showing every step using several of their products, I decided to get this and have one more go.This was (finally) a smart move. The tools included make adjusting truss rods and setting action height simple, so simple that even I can do it.The engraved white numbers are easy to read, more so than the etched tools that I have used in the past. The price is reasonable and will save you money in the long run if you are willing to put in the work to do a setup.I have used Music Nomad products for nearly two years now and have never had a bad experience with any of their merchandise. They are a fantastic company.

These tools worked out perfectly for me and they’re super simple to use. I watched the “how-to” videos on the Nomad website and was able to set up my guitar in about an hour. I called a couple guitar shops to see if they could set up my guitar but it was going to cost $170-$300 and I might be without my guitar for up to 30 days, that wasn’t going to happen. I’m glad I stumbled upon this product on Amazon. Turns out my Action was on the high side. Great investment in yourself and your guitar! Definitely would recommend this. 10/10!

It works. Here's what they tell you without "telling you"; If their setup directions seem a little weird, it's because they have figured out a setup process that takes the guitar "nut" out of the equation. Pretty much all of their guidelines are established using a capo on fret #1. You end up with a 95% great setup, that likely plays to about 50% of the guitar's potential. This is because the final step is "filing the nut". You probably don't have a set of nut files. It's frustrating because the nut is the one thing that guitar manufacturers seem to consistently neglect. I think that they want YOU to set the nut to YOUR SETUP, and avoid cutting it too low on the manufacturing end. Makes sense. But nut files don't really exist in the wild. They're specific to each string gauge, and to people who can justify owning them to use as tools of their trade. These 2 gauges are great though. I purchased them(and radius gauges) to set up an Ibanez RG Mikro for a 9yr old. That went SO well, that every guitar in the house received the inspection and treatment. It's just nice to have definitive numbers to work with when you're pushing limits and looking to optimize something like this. It's ever better to have this gauge data to help understand why a particular scenario may NOT quite be working out! There's just a lot of information to be collected using these tools. And a lot of time to be saved.

I really like the String Action Gauge. Much easier to read the 'white on black' as opposed to 'black on silver' on another gauge I have. The 'Truss Rod/Fret Board Relief' gauge takes away the guessing with my eyes and a ruler. Two thumbs up for both.

Being a machinist I can say this gage is more accurate than the dunlop version. Although thin, it appears to made out of good material with proper tempering so it won't bend under normal use. Feeler gages mic'ed up to their respective sizes and the instructions are simple to follow. If you don't mind parting with more money than you should for this product, I will say they are good tools.
