So we bought a baby gate at Target only to get it home to find that our walkway was 1" too wide for the gate (we bought the white one). The gate installed ok, but you could tell that it needed to be wider to get a good tension against the walls to keep the gate sturdy. Since we were only 1" short of the max, we chose this gate extension rod, even though the color didn't match the white gate we had bought we figured the 5" extension that did match would be too wide. This arrived yesterday and to its credit it did a good job of making the gate the right width and really securing it against the wall...BUT the silver rod shown in the picture IS TOO SHORT for the gate. So now there is a six inch gap between the wall and the first rod, leaving room for someone to slip through (if determined). In my opinion, the extender did its job allowing the gate to be installed correctly, however it failed in working as pictured.

This does not fit all Munchkin Gates. This is 1/2” too tall for the gate we bought. Amazon does not make this clear as it links these extensions to the gate we purchased.

Make sure you follow the instructions on Munchkin's website regarding gate extensions. As long as you do, it works great.
