My dog loves this toy. It’s musical and plays ‘Happy Birthday’. It’s also very durable. She usually chews everything and destroys toys but not this one.

They turned 3 and they loved the celebration!!! These were perfect for our Great Danes turning 3 who love any toys that makes sound. Doesn’t take them long to break the sound maker, but they did not tear them apart and still carry them around sometimes 9 months later!

Out of all the multipet look who's talking toys, this one is the favorite for our dogs. We have four of these cakes around the house. They go crazy for the singing and still play with it after the battery dies. Unfortunately there's no way to easily open and replace the battery but that's probably better safety-wise for dogs.

Years ago, my previous lab pups have danced with the Multipet Plush Musical Birthday Cake Dog Toy. It has been around for a long time. They loved it (more than my husband who was annoyed by the music). This plush 5 ½ inch toy has a small music box inside that plays multiple verses of the happy birthday song. It can get annoying for humans but not so for young dogs who LOVE it. It had been 15 years since we had a puppy and as I pulled previous birthday cakes out from the toy basket I found that none played the song. My husband didn’t break the sound box, my labs did while playing. Aggressive chewers will destroy it fast, especially if left unsupervised with the toy. I recently bought this and I’ll tell you, my current 18-week-old lab LOVES her birthday cake. We play together with it for a while and then it’s put away out of reach, hopefully to extend the life of the music box.

I bought this 24 years ago for my first dog and I’ve been buying one every year since for all the dogs I’ve had. It’s cute, plays the birthday song but can’t be shut off. It’s thick and on the medium size. Be prepared to hear Happy Birthday music until it breaks. Most of the time it lasts for a few weeks and then breaks after being bitten enough. Sometimes it becomes destuffed. Other times it just loses its fun when the song stops. It’s perfect for a pup’s bday!

It is cute in theory, but definitely shouldn't be used as a toy for your little ones. When we purchased this, it was under $2 and we knew it was only going to be a silly little toy that we'd use as a noisemaker to play the Birthday song a few times, use for a few photo ops, and use it to let one of our pups kick around for a while (she only likes toys that talk, roar, sing, etc and doesn't chew them just scoots them under her and flips them in the air...silly kid!).We knew before buying this thanks to the other reviews that it had an unsafe battery housing and a very tiny cell battery that no furkid or young child should be allowed to chew on/play with, as it's not only a choking hazard, but ingesting the battery could be devastating. All that aside, it was so inexpensive, we figured less than $2 for a toy that we weren't even going to use for its intended purpose nor let them keep was worth the money. And for the most part, it was. It played Happy Birthday 3 times VERY loud and clear (see video for reference if you'd like). It was fairly soft/plush. It was squished in the package it came in, so the candles never stood up properly, they were always tilted diagonally- no big deal. The colours were vibrant. The biggest issue I have is the price keeps fluctuating almost daily. Today it is $5.99, as a 'special low price' deal. A few days ago it was listed at nearly $9. When we purchased it, the regular price was under $2, no coupon, no flash sale, just the normal everyday price. It is NOT worth $3, yet alone $5 or $9!Your dogs should NOT play with/be allowed to chew on this 'toy'...it is UNSAFE! Had it stayed at the lower, even $2 price, I would say, yeah, it's worth buying it for the simple song of it.If you do buy it, I highly recommend watching them like a HAWK and not taking your hand off of it while they play with it if they are chewers. To be safe, you could even cut the housing out of it and sew it back up. But for the safety of your little ones, please do not let them out of your sight with this or anything with a battery inside...it is just not worth it.Again, it is very cute, but just not a safe toy.

This product was great for my dog's first birthday! The cake looks like a cake, it was sturdy, good quality, and plays the song 'happy birthday'. Very cute for pictures as well. Definitely worth every penny! Also, has stayed in tact!
