This mandoline slicer is extremely sharp. It doesn’t take long to slice a vegetable or fruit on this. You need to be very careful because you can slice your fingers/hand that will require an emergency room visit. Pay attention to what you’re slicing as it will dwindle down quicker than you think, and that’s when you could be in trouble. I just wish it were a little wider.

Very good mandolin. Easy to use. I love it for making home made potato chips. It slices very well and is very sharp. Makes it fast to quickly slice veggies. It's easy to clean. The included grip makes it safe. It's size allows it to store easily.

Never needed one because I do slice thin naturally but I'm a mom working at night, going to school and still trying to keep up the standards I set as a stay at home mom... this saves me from time and energy. It's quick to use and works fast. I like that there's something to hold the food and I also like that it works well when I use a fork when I'm too scared. The blades are sharp and this is easy to clean and store.

This is a decent handheld slicer that can cut a lot thinner than you can buy doing it with a knife. I sliced up onion, and carrots very thin for An Asian shrimp dish that I’m planning on making. I’m not really used to it yet so this might get better with more use. It was easy to use. It’s an easy cleanup and can go right in the dishwasher after rinsing off any leftover vegetables on the slicer. There were different settings that you can use for thicker cuts, but again this is some thing I’m going to have to practice using. The knife on it is very sharp so be careful, but there is a protective holder for whatever vegetable you’re using to prevent you from hurting yourself. The size is great because it’s not cumbersome to use it. There’s also a spot on the bottom that holds the slicer in place when you use it with a bowl I would say this is 4 1/2 star range. Also, when I cut the onions, this worked very quickly and no tears, typically my eyes tear up when cutting onions so it’s possible the slicer prevented that.

It does work well but it is a bit slim, so you can't use big vegetables like a beefy tomato would probably be too big to fit in between the sides but other than it is good.

This Handheld Slicer is a convenient tool and great, as long as long you only want to cut slices of fruits and veggies. It does not come with interchangeable blades to cut french fries or julienne strips. The unique food holder is excellent, better than those with prongs that slip down. It gives you a better grip while protecting your fingertips and allows you to slice much closer to the end of the vegetable or fruit, so there is less wastage than slicers or mandolines that have a top food holder. Another convenient feature is that there is a notch allowing it to fit securely over a bowl so slices fall into the bowl instead of having them fall on to the countertop. Also, when hanging the slicer on a hook after use, using the hole in the soft grip handle, the food holder clips nicely and securely into the bed of the slicer to keep it from getting lost.The main drawback of this slicer as said above is that there are no changeable blades to make fries, julienne vegetable strips etc. All you get to do with this is make slices (which it does very well). Also there are only 3 pre-set slicing thickness settings, with many mandolines you can infinitely adjust the thickness of a slice with screw. I did not find that a drawback, only mention it. If all you need or plan to do is slice your fruits and vegetables, this is a handy and excellent choice, but if you think you might want to cut fries or julienne strips, you’ll need to use a knife after slicing them with this tool. For that a real mandoline would be a better choice.
