Why are the edges of the eyes uneven?
Safety eyes are cast in the mold. It left what looked like tiny fragments extending to the edge of each eye. They are not chips and cannot be avoided. The reverse side of individual eyes may appear uneven, which is a normal phenomenon during the casting process. Does not affect normal use.
How to solve?
They can be smoothed slightly using a non-abrasive surface such as leather or rubber, but be careful not to overdo it and scratch or damage the surface of the eye.
PLEASE NOTE: CHILDREN NEED TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT TO USE THESE STUFFED ANIMAL EYES TO PREVENT SWALLOWING.

beautiful eyes for any project. would definitely buy more. they are a bit hard to put in by hand would recommend getting a tool but will not come out once in place.

I bought these eyes for crochet dragons that I make for my kids. They’re bright and a perfect size for my projects. The amount of eyes you get for the cost is a great value as well, I probably won’t run out of the 120 pieces for quite some time, which is a convenient bonus.

Update - originally received a package without the backs or glitter/colored disks. Exchanged and received everything it was supposed to have. They look great and go on well. Once on, do not come off which is great, but make sure they were exactly where you want them before securing in place. Didn't need any tools.

*** I have had to change my review from 3stars to the lowest possible and I would give them zero stars if I could. I am so disappointed! I made several plushy to sell at a festival and ended up, donating them to flood victims. No, the Three plushy that I have kept sitting on a shelf, eyes popped out. So even the ones that I originally could install, the safety backs on without the backs cracking now come undone. I have no way to take apart a crocheted plushy and repair the eyes, and I also have no way of tracking down ones that have been donated in case they are eyes have defected. **** These safety eyes are very cute for my plushies But I can’t consider them safety eyes because I have had several of the backs crack when trying to use them.

The eyes are as explained, but the backing are different, then described along, in appearance. I use my eyes for amagrumi if you don't know what that is it's crocheted stuffed animals. These eyes with backing I've received are not sinker eyes. So they pop out more then I would like.
