Bought three of these. Donated them to families living in western NC (along with other supplies)1 family living without power in their undamaged home, but the home was built without an alternative source of heat.2families with homes damaged to certain degrees but have made makeshift temporary repairs and are staying there without electricity. These heating units really help these family’s who are still suffering without govt help. They are safe, reliable, and provide excellent heat if used in the correct environment. The locations of the heaters in the homes were checked for safety and proper ventilation and optimizing heat.I wont hesitate to purchase more of these as needy families are identified. (A lot of folks refuse “handouts” or help of any kind)

The Cabinet LP heater was a big improvement over the smaller Mr. Heater I used to warm my attached patio. The setup was super easy, but it will take a few try's to get it started the very first time. I'm thinking about buying another for the workshop. I was pleasantly how much heat this heater can put out.

I thought this little heater would generate some heat, but Holy cow!!!Now, I just got this heater today and i haven't needed to set of above medium.I'll say this, with the heat this generates i feel this would more than suit your needs.According to the instructions it'll heat up to 450sq ft. I'm sure it could heat a space that size easily and if you added a wood stove fan to put on top I'm sure it'd have no problem.Assembly was easy and I noticed some commented getting the pilot light lit was troublesome. When lighting the pilot, you depress the red control know down, turn to pilot and hold for about 15 seconds. Then while still holding it down, turn back to off and back to pilot till it clicks, once lit, hold for 25 seconds. Then light heater. All on all heat purchase and would recommend. It even arrived a day early.

It has a very good heat, but unfortunately, it is not suitable for a closed space at all, and a very unpleasant smell wafts inside the room.

Update: Just received my new heater. It outperforms my Dyna-Glo heater. Puts out more heat, and has a bigger heating filament. Very easy to start. Just follow the instructions. The quality seems perfectly adequate. Its not the prettiest heater but I like that it is portable. Also. I like the automatic shut off feature. Was easy to assemble, for me anyway. I'm 57 years old with arthritic hands. This will be my second cabinet heater. I live in Maine, in an old 60 foot mobile home. The home has new windows and is weatherized, but it needs to be insulated. The walls are thin, so the cold just radiates from them in the winter, and the heat dissipates quickly once the heat is turned off. I have a new oil furnace which takes premium kerosene. The price for K1 kerosene has been outrageous the last two years. So I have experimented with using space heaters, propane and electric. By far, the propane has proven to be the best choice. Electric heaters just use so much electricity, it's as expensive as just buying kerosene. But propane is pretty cheap here. I pay $17 per 20 lbs tank, which holds 4.7 gallons. I currently have a Dynaglo propane cabinet heater, and it works great. It provides instant heat, with three heat settings. On high setting, it blasts the heat. I only turn it on high for a few minutes to take the chill off, then turn it back to low. I turn it off at night because the temperatures here are still mild, but soon that will change. Right now I have gotten four days out of a tank, and it's still running. For $17 a tank, that's a good deal. Yes, once cold weather really sets in, I would have to turn the heat up to keep the living room and kitchen warmHowever, I believe that with one more cabinet heater at the back end of the trailer, I should be able to get by with running them both on low, once I get up to temp. I may have to supplement with the oil furnace, especially at night on the coldest nights. Just to keep the pipes from freezing. But I can set the thermostat at 60 for that purpose. I still think the propane heaters will save money versus just running the furnace, because in the coldest weather, it runs constantly, on top of the electricity it uses to run the blower. Kerosene will probably hit $6 a gallon soon. I would use several gallons a day on the cold days. By the way, I have a small oscillating fan on top of the heater to distribute the heat (it's a metal fan) which helps alot. Some people go into a panic about using these heaters indoors due to carbon monoxide risks. In my case, the exhaust fans in the bathrooms run automatically throughout the day and night. Also, the trailer is just not airtight, despite the weatherization, so any carbon monoxide being produced is escaping through the cracks. During the day, people are coming in and out throughout the day, so there is fresh air coming in that way. However, you can buy a carbon monoxide monitor for less than $20, and some heaters have automatic shut off, if levels get too high.

Bought several over the years. We use them in our gazebo at our camping site for the cool spring and fall days. In the past we purchased the other Mr. Heaters. They worked well but made with plastic which breaks into pieces over time because of the heat. And the propane tank has to be beside the heater. This one, the propane tank sits in the back. Furthermore, it's on wheels and the casing is metal. Great product and quite safe. The top and sides remain cool at all times. Our advice, however, would be to close the gas tank BEFORE turning the knob of the heater to off. This allows the gas to escape the hose. Otherwise it tends to leave a residue around the pilot (over time) and it will jam. This may not happen with this particular product because the hose is very short. It tends to happen with the other Mr. Heaters because the hose it longer and builds more residue.

This little heater is awesome. I have a desk in my garage and I use it to heat my area when I work out there in winter. It doesn't smell, no CO (so far), throws heat exactly where you want it, and is very efficient. I can get several weeks out of a tank at my usage rate. It's nice that it has wheels. On high it heats my entire 2 car garage pretty quickly.Update after using it a few months: Everything works well, except the lighting process is exceptionally annoying. I don't understand why I can't just turn the knob and the pilot lights, then turn the knob and the panel lights. There is a magical sequence / timing where you have to sit there and hold the knob down, if you let off the knob too fast the pilot light or panel goes out and you need to repeat the process.Another update: Downgraded my review to 1 start. How in the world can they sell a heater that doesn't light when it is cold. I need to bring this heater into my house to warm it up so the pilot will stay lit and it will operate. Leaving it in my garage when it gets down into the 40's and it WILL NOT LIGHT. I could hold the pilot button down for over a minute and it goes right out. Infuriating heater.Final Update: I had to watch youtube video's on how to fix it. I tried several troubleshooting suggestions including cleaning the thermocouple that detects if the pilot light is on. What finally did it was bypassing the tip-over switch. The tip-over switch is defective, when it's cold out it acts like it tipped over. I connected the wires together and now it starts up very fast and operates normally. I will order a new tip-over switch for safety.
