First things first - this is replacing my Big Buddy, which gave me years of service but finally gave up the ghost. I found though that for my purposes the Big Buddy almost threw out TOO much heat on high, but not quite enough on medium.I gravitated to the Flex because it's a next generation product, and the temperature control allows for more variation. I also like the 180 degree heating area, something I had trouble accomplishing with the Big Buddy without setting it to high, and even then the angle was 45 degrees tops. This is a much more graceful product.The unit is built to be narrow instead of broad, which for me makes it a little easier to position. I appreciate the electronic ignition and the wind guard around the pilot. It's a bit fussy to get the battery for the ignition installed, and it does require a screwdriver. The instructions don't go into any detail on any of this, but it is fairly intuitive. The control knob is similarly fussy - it depresses well enough to get the pilot lit, but doesn't turn smoothly to go from pilot to low/high.Now then. Know up front that this drains a 1 lb bottle VERY quickly, especially on high. If you get a couple of hours out of a bottle then you're doing well. It is also a single-bottle setup. For sustained use, definitely get a coupling hose onto a 20 lb tank, and DEFINITELY get a fuel filter. Moreover, when shutting it down, turn the gas off at the tank then turn the unit off. You do NOT want propane sitting in the hose.It sounds like I'm criticizing the heck out of this thing, but in all actuality none of these are dealbreakers. It throws out heat quite well, and I'd say it's a more gentle heat than the Big Buddy. In my use I couldn't hear ANY noise outside of the normal flame sound (think gas grill...). While there's a great range (180 degrees...), owing to the lack of the Big Buddy-stye fan the direction is more Up than Out. Main takeaway there is that if this is on the ground, then great. If it's on a table, the use of a small clip-on fan mounted to the body of the unit to direct heat is advised. Note though that if you use a fan, the 180 degree range gets reduced.It's made...well, it's made very well. Love the integrated handle, and it's not overly heavy. Also love the capability of attaching a stove to this too - it does make camping a bit easier when it's chilly. I do wonder about the little "storage compartment" on the side, as it's not very large and about all it can hold is the operating manual (if that). But since my Big Buddy didn't have a storage compartment anyway, I can't say that I care about this one.One last critique - there isn't a cover for the tank compartment. Not really a sin, but something to be aware of if you're interested in aesthetics.I have to say though, the criticisms do NOT outweigh the advantages of this item. It brings up the space to a gentle heat, instead of force blasting an inferno through it. Sure it may take a bit longer to warm that space, but that time results in a more comfortable environment. I really like this item.

Works perfectly for heating the garage up, nice to use the hose adapter for normal sized propane tanks. Plan on using this heater for next weeks Firefall in yosemite national park!

Took it ice fishing and it worked great heating up the portable. We also have one in a deer stand and it works well there too. My opinion, better than the Mr. Heaters they replaced.

This is an awesome heater! I received it today and brought straight out to use on the ice. It had my tent super warm and was great to look at. Starting the first time was tricky, but reading instructions printed on top of unit was a good idea 😆 turn knob to left instead of accessory side on right and push dial in while pushing ignition button then holding in for 30 seconds. my old buddy heater which is about 12 is still working great!

zum Top Preis (119€) hier erstanden. Es liegt sogar ein Adapter Lindal auf den zölligen US Anschluss bei. Sinnvoll ist allerdings ein Schlauch für große Gasflaschen (5kg, 11kg, etc.) und oder die legal wiederbefüllbaren 1Pfund Stahlflaschen aus den USA ( Flameking 1lbs Gaskanister oder das Mr. Heater Pendant). Butan und Butangemische funktionieren wenn man sie braucht nicht richtig ,wegen des mangelnden Dampfdruckes. Bitte noch den zugehörigen Kocher und die Tasche anbieten.Dankeschön!

Surpassed my expectations, amazing product that pushes out a lot of heat. Use with a refillable 1 pounder tank or a 5 pounder tank to save on propane costs.
