so far, so good. the older reviews made me hesitate, but it seems as if the manufacturer rectified the issue with the thermostat.on that note: the thermostat is very accurate (calibrated next to an alcohol thermometer), and operates over a very wide range for those who want to use it for refrigeration or freezing. the probe can operate underwater or in soil, as well as in air...a plus for those who want to heat aquariums or seedlings, etc. the heater has a heavy coil, which means that when it switches on, it takes a minute or two to start feeling heat, and it doesn't glow red hot and provide an instant heat blast like some space heaters do. it also takes a minute to cool off when it shuts off. but all this is good news for maintaining a consistent temperature point in a small room, especially where there are plants. the greenhouse i am using it in is 70-80sqft/7' in height. this heater seems perfectly adequate for that application.everything looks very well made, with good ABS plastic, stainless steel, etc... i may be wrong, but it appears as if the fan runs continuously as long as the machine is set in "heat" mode, whether the heating element is engaged or not. i need to verify this. however, with the included external thermostat, this is a non-issue, as power to the unit is completely shut off when "told to" by the thermostat, shutting off the fan.... although i just received it, at this juncture i feel like i am going to be very satisfied with this purchase. will update as needed.

I carefully read all of the reviews, both positive and negative, and decided to give this a try as I needed a realiable heater and thermostat for my greenhouse this winter. I wanted one that would be safe to leave on unsupervised, and wanted to be able to keep the heat at a specific temperature without having to regularly check it with a thermometer. I also wanted something thet I knew would be safe in case it inadvertently got wet while plants were being watered. This is all of the above!!! I have had the greenhouse thermostat set at 51 degrees for my tropical plants. Temps have dropped as low as 17 degrees Fahrenheit so far (they will be getting lower as winter progresses) and the heater/thermostat have had no problem keeping the greenhouse at a comfortable 51 degrees!! I should add that I do not have my portable greenhouse out in direct sunlight..it is under my deck so it is not getting much heat from direct sunlight. This little heater is doing all the work! And to my surprise, it hasn’t affected my electric bill at all. Very efficient. I am very pleased with my purchase!!

After reading the reviews I was very hesitant , but I needed a heater for my small greenhouse badly and there are not very many greenhouse heaters out there. Actually I was using a little space heater before because I was not able to find a small heater for a greenhouse and some of my plant got frozen and died. After reading that there was a faulty thermostat which is replaced I tried my luck and I'm glad I did. My thermostat works fine and all my plants survived the polar vortex. My greenhouse is 8x8 and not very well insulated, but I have it set up for 35 degree and it stayed 35 degree in the bitter cold we had. I have another thermostat in the greenhouse and both showed the same degree, I would say it is very accurate. What I like with this thermostat, it doesn't warm up the greenhouse like my old one did. The old thermostat started heating at 35 degree and kept heating up to 45 degrees, at least to it got very cold. I don't want to heat my greenhouse, just protect it from freezing. If you need it warmer, just set it up higher. It is very easy to set up, only takes seconds and it's ready to go.

It was very hard finding a small heater with thermostat for my 4x4x8 grow tent. Small household space heater would burn out to quickly from the load my LED light do not generate much heat. Now they do recommend you have much more clearance around it than I do but it works great.

Use this unit in my green house which is 16ft x 8ft x10ft,mand it does a great job. Also the thermostat control works great and very easy to use.

This product is very quiet, and the temperature control seems to be accurate and match our thermometer in our greenhouse. It hasn’t gotten very cold yet in our area, but so far, so good!

Powerful enough to keep our 200 sq ft greenhouse in the 40s when the outside temp drops to the low 30s. Just what we were looking for. Wasn’t sure I would like the external thermometer but it is a nice feature.
