As humans, we respond very well to things we can touch and feel. Many abstract concepts or written descriptions of items become suddenly much clearer (and even less complicated) if there is a 3-D model we can hold and inspect as we learn. This anatomic model does just that as it depicts the important structures comprising the female pelvis, and again, I wish I was able to use such a tool as this during my medical school and residency training in OB-GYN. The model contains all the relevant bone and ligament structures which make up the female pelvis, as well as a plastic membrane representing the pubic symphysis. A very nice feature of this model is that all these elements are moveable to an extent, which mimics what happens during pregnancy and eventual delivery of a baby, Important conditions seen in clinical practice (especially complications during labor and delivery) can be explained using this model, allowing students to see for themselves in three dimensions what is detailed in written format in their textbooks. I highly recommend this product for clinical teachers and students wishing to get a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanics present in this dynamic anatomic region.

This was true to scale and well made. The way the ligaments attach creates a better way to show the pelvis and hips

This reproduction of a human female pelvis is well crafted from sturdy materials. It appears to have been cast from an actual specimen, so it is incredibly lifelike, with multiple mobile joints to help illustrate the various joints and movements the pelvis can accommodate. Good for anatomical studies or as a teaching aid for health care practitioners. Or, if you're like me and enjoy having a bit of a Kunstkabinett (aka a Cabinet of Curiosities), it's an affordable but memorable piece to add to your collection.
