I really like this. It looks like a real bone model. The nerves are soft and the tail bone is attached with wire. Shows a herniated disk as well. I have used this to show the injury to my sacral joint. And a lot of people don't realize that this joint can be dislocated. Really well made medical model.

My daughter is in graduate school, and is studying human archaeology. She didn't have a good representation of the spine to study until now. This lumbar spine model is large enough to see the details but isn't cumbersome to hold and maneuver. The base isn't the most sturdy, but it works. The detail and accuracy is great according to my daughter. Great teaching/study model for anyone interested in the spine.

This is a very nice model of the lumbosacral spine, strung on a central rod which is attached to a plastic base with a wing nut. I would prefer the base to be heavier, but it does work just fine. I like the model in general, which makes it easy to see and explain the spinal anatomy and the relationships between bones, discs and nerves. The materials are firm yet flexible, not brittle. The spinal nerves are represented clearly in soft yellow plastic and the intervertebral discs by a translucent material that is helpful in understanding the anatomy and possible pathologies. I think it an excellent model for teaching basic anatomy, and it has outstanding possibilities as a base for props. I received it through the Amazon Vine program.
