Picked this up to replace a die handle that had snapped in a cheap set I picked up years ago. Construction on this seems well enough, and the grips are nice added touch, but it's only 1.48" on the inside of the handle so it won't actually fit my 1.5" dies. Perhaps this was just a manufacturing defect on mine, and can probably be fixed with a few minutes of sanding, but just frustrating when a new tool doesn't do what it claims.

The handle is of heavy construction very nice, my only issue the dies I use are a bit smaller for this particular handle so the m-5 set screws provided are too short so I drilled and tapped it for 1/4"-20 screws and it works perfectly now, so if your dies are smaller in diameter than the body of the tap handle I suggest drilling out the M-5 metric screws to 1/4"-20 American style machine screws, I wanted to use a 3/8-16 tap die in the tap handle,but the die was way smaller diameter to fit the tool but with longer m-5 metric screws will work I just went with 1/4-20 tapped holes and machine screws. I bought a 9mm threaded barrel and end cap not long ago. When I received the item, the threads were dinged up a bit, so the cap would not screw onto the barrel end without some trouble. The manufacturer replaced the barrel and cap just fine, but why waste a perfectly good barrel/cap when all it takes is a little touch up? So I bought this die handle and the cutter for 1/2x28 threads. I used it and it straightened out the barrel threads just fine. No more issues. Very good product at a really good price, and it saved my barrel so now I have an extra!

I like this die handle but it needed just a little help, hence the 4 stars. The Die I ordered would not drop in due to burs around the holes for the screws that secure the die in the handle. Took a small sanding drum on my dremel just a couple minutes to fix that. Now works great.
