I got this M8 die to clean up some M8 bolts. When I tried to run them through the die the die took off a ton of material. I just wanted to clean up a couple of the threads. I tried a new unused M8 bolt and got the same reaction. I tested the bolts with a metric thread checker, and they are M8-1.25 threaded bolts. So, the question is, what is the die. It removed a lot of metal and was very difficult to thread onto the bolts.

Bought it for the cost. Came somewhat rusted and didn’t seem that sharp. Started to use on some rough threads (not terrible) and it wouldn’t turn that easily on the first couple of threads. Didn’t force it and instead paid a lot more for a premium one. That worked effortlessly. Spend the money
