It is specifically designed to catch the bleeder that are deep within tissue hence it is ideally used on tough structures like palms, soles or scalp. The forceps catches the structure that is bleeding and crushes the bleeder that results in clogging. The tooth gripped the structure firmly, so that the tissue does not slip. The basic concept of artery forceps or hemostatic forceps is to secure the bleeding vessels so that the surgical field remains dry and clear, additionally patient does not bleed excessively.

These proved to be less than perfect for small parts due to a clump of steel on the very tip of the forceps manking it impossible to pick up small wires and parts. Bought a bundle of simple forceps with gripping to the very tip of the forceps that work fine. I can only use these if I can place an item in the forcep of it the part is elevated or large enough to grip behing the clump on the tip.

I purchased these forceps to try to clamp onto a recessed screw that had a broken off head. While I was unable to get the screw out in the way I had hoped to (with this clamp), I'm sure the tool will come in handy for other things in the future.Having been raised by a surgical nurse, I'm familiar with professional quality surgical tools. This hemostat is not professional quality, but it's inexpensive and it works as expected. The teeth at the end on the one I received were sharp a met as expected - no bent teeth. The ratcheted lock worked as expected, and while it's not heavy-duty stainless, it is OK for the price. It does feel lightweight and probably won't last for years with continued use, but if you are putting together a First Aid kit or work on crafting projects, it will work for you.

It's a great tool to debone fish. But it's kinda short for a forcep.

Definitely not the finest quality instruments. The 1x2 front teeth are noticeably uneven. I’m not buying anymore instruments by Premium Instruments!

I love that these have the ends. Catches hair, splinters, etc. so much better.

I bought a pair of these a few months ago and I loved them! Easy to clamp and unclamp, sturdy, smooth, and comfortable. I decided to use it on one of my crafts recently and accidentally broke it, my mistake, I wasn’t using it properly. However I decided to purchase a different one, 2 for the price of 1. HUGE mistake, my new ones are tough to use, difficult to unclamp and they’re uncomfortable. I should’ve purchased these and will again in the future. I loved them!
