I'm using this drying rack for a combination of drying rack and supplies storage, and my tiny apartment is less crowded now. It was easy to assemble and is currently holding a lot of medium weight items and drying Woiks Of Aht. (They're too much fun to be work and not good enough to be Art.)There are just a few pieces, other than the many shelves, and I used common sense to assemble them with no worries. Square piece with holes in 3 corners and 90-degree uprights in two -- that's the bottom, add the wheels. "H" shaped pieces -- the side with many holes will be the fronts, the screws to hold them together go on the back. "U" shaped piece is the top, since it doesn't have connecters to anything above it. Prongs on shelves go into the holes on the uprights. The back pieces needed to be squeezed together a bit to fit the connection; I think that tension/compression helps hold the frame together, in addition to the screws. I'm an old lady and had no trouble squeezing them together. The shelves are heavy duty wire. Tilt the shelf up, insert prongs in back frame, lower front of shelf, done. That means they have to be inserted from the bottom up; if you want to take one out, you have to remove all the shelves above it first. That literally takes seconds so I'm not deducting for it. The crosshatch wires are attached to the outer wire by soldering or gluing them onto the outer wire, so the drying surface isn't totally flat, but the difference is 2 mm at most. The space between most shelves is about 1 inch, and the 3 spaces where the frame pieces connect are almost 4 inches apart. The top shelf, of course, has no upper limit."Each shelf holds 3 pounds" -- strictly speaking, that's true. Practically speaking, no. I used my 1.5-pound hand dumbbells to test this and they sat on the shelf for 15 minutes without breaking the shelf or crashing to the ground. However, the shelf bent down quite a bit so the dumbbells slid off the front if I didn't place them carefully, and it sure looked precarious -- I was definitely worried that the shelf would break. Each shelf did hold 1.5 pounds comfortably, albeit sometimes with a little drooping.Examples of supplies storage:Yes -- 72 acrylic markers in paper box, 60 acrylic markers in plastic box, coloring books up to 50 sheets, watercolor sets in light metal boxes, kits for 12x16 inch magic diamond paintings, empty 16x20 inch wooden frames, 50 coloring pencils set in paper box.No -- 50 coloring pencils in metal box, coloring books larger than 50 sheets, water color paper more than 30 sheets.I have a 16x20 inch canvas-on-wood-stretchers with tube acrylic paint, drying in one of the larger (4 inch) gaps quite nicely. It could have fit in the other shelves but it would have been close, so I didn't take the chance. I have a 16x20 magic diamond painting (canvas, no stretchers, rhinestones glued onto one flat side to make a picture, sealer compound on top that's drying) in one of the regular shelves. Usually I'd have to put them on a table and a desk while they dried, so this rack is freeing up my furniture for other uses. It's stable on my carpeted floor and also rolls well across the carpet (and stays put unless I move it).I think this rack will be awesome for drying paper and canvas works, and probably for thin wood planks, and it has a tiny footprint for the amount of drying/storage space it provides. I'm very happy with it.

Wanted to use these shevles for thin organizer box storage, and it didn't end up working out so well lol. The entire thing started bending/deforming and now isn't very recoverable. Overall, the shelves are a pretty good design that take a bit of time to set up, but seem to do the job though. Without an order of operations instructions sheet I did struggle to assemble it in the way that was intended. The caster wheels on the bottom are also pretty great.

Goes together quickly and seems sturdy enough. Actually using this in the garage where I do some painting on thin sheets of wood, usually balsa. This rack easily holds them for drying, and will also work to hold thinner sheets after staining. If you're aiming for it to hold paper/canvas type materials it will be ideal.Edit: After having this for awhile I have to say this drying rack is absolutely useless. It seems to be good quality and sturdy and it's nice to have so many slots for storage, however this cannot hold the weight limit that they state. The listing description says each shelf can hold 3lbs and I disagree. We've used these to dry canvases and we have not used all the shelves at one time and the unit tips forward. The first time that it tipped over, I was able to bend the base to straighten it easily. Sturdy strong metal would take much more effort to bend and then straighten. Unfortunately this is a big fail!

The shelves are super flimsy. I'm not even sure about a fully painted canvas. I needed it to truly support 3lbs. Luckily, I'm married to a poor man's McGyver who took yard stick length spare wood pieces, measured each space, and cut corresponding notches for both sides. Now it actually holds 8lbs per. My hubby ROCKS! If you're broke and you know someone like that, you can't beat the price at around $100.

I hav a laser engraving machine and have been trying to find a storage solution for the many sheets of basswood I have accumulated. My workshop is the garage so it gets damp, when i stored them in a filing cabinet they got moldy. This drying rack works great for storing them. It has plenty of airflow so they won’t mold.Because I am using this for heavier material than it is designed for, I placed a 1” cube between each shelf to help keep them from bowing due the extra weight. The shelves were not bending but I wanted to take extra precautions just in case I add to many sheets of wood over time. When I opened the box I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the pieces. So I thought putting this together was going to be a tedious task that would take forever. It literally took less than 15 minutes and would have been even less time had I not put it together wrong the first time. All of the hardware and tools needed for assembly are included. This is has good balance and is sturdy. It has 4 castor wheels-2 locking and 2 regularTotal of 36 shelvesThere are many uses for this rack other than in a classroom. It is well made and is a great storage solution for flat items. I would like to get another one to store my sheets of htv vinyl and adhesive vinyl on. When i have large T-shirt orders it would be nice to precut all of the HTV and have them ready to go. Keeping them on the shelves would help protect them and keep them from sticking to everything else.*Helpful Tip*When you are assembling the H frame there is one piece that has two holes it goes on the bottom.
