I hate having to take one star, since I unequivocally love the color, and how it flows and makes the pen glide on the paper. And the price for such a large amount of ink (90ml!) is astonishing. It arrived well padded and packaged. It is also surprisingly water-resistant. However, I would not call it "100% waterproof," since water on the page causes some ink to move around, but the text remains quite dark and legible. Why 4 stars? It was a hard choice, and I wish I could just shave only 1/2 a star, since my experience will probably not happen to people with drier pens or those with Rhodia, Tomoe River, or Clairefontaine notebooks.I find it a tad wet, enough so that it bleeds minimally through the (according to their description) 100gsm notebooks I'm using (Billtigif Hardcover Spiral Notebook A4, and AHGXG Lined Journal Notebook A5). Not so much that the page becomes unusable, though (see pictures). I moved the ink from a LAMY Safari medium to an Asvine P20 fine, then extra fine. With the Asvine EF the issue lessened, but I still get some bleed through.Again, please refer to the pics: it's just an annoying property of the ink/page/pen combo... but it doesn't make the back of the page unusable. It dries fast enough so you can keep writing on them. FYI: "An Ink Guy" on YT didn't find this issue with Capri Blue on the premium paper he uses for his tests, so YMMV.I'll one day try using with an even finer nib, like a Pilot Kakuno EF (since Japanese nibs are even finer than German-like nibs like those found on the LAMYs and Asvines), to see if it helps, maybe even one of the papers "An Ink Guy" uses in his YT channel.I will keep using it since I love the color, and learn to live with the minimal bleed through. It would be a waste otherwise. Nevertheless, I'll keep searching for a vibrant blue ink that doesn't do that. Cheers.

It is a beautiful blue! It doesn' look like the ones in cheap plastic pens. It doesn't bleed and won't dry while writing. Good amount of ink for the price. I am happy with it!

Very good ink for most uses. Comparable toParker or Noodler's. I've never had leakage from this ink with any pen I have used with it.

This was the first ink I ever bought, and not having a sense of scale, I decided to get the 90 mL bottle. This was a big mistake. The bottle is huge, and I don't see how I can ever get through the entire thing in a single lifetime. I've started lending it to friends to make up for it.As for the ink itself, it's fairly good. A nice blue (I've found it to be very similar to the blue in Pentel Energel pens), with a nice wet flow. It is completely unremarkable in every way, and that's not a bad thing. If you want a reliable, professional-looking blue that is more focused on being functional than being eye catching, then I couldn't recommend it enough.

Mooie helder blauwe kleur. De inkt vloeit normaal en droogt relatief snel. Fijne combinatie van eigenschappen.

Monteverde inks are known for their good behavior on the paper and safety in the pen. There are some beautiful colors, of which their signature Monteverde Green is one. It’s very dark and a true, slightly blue-leaning forest green, so the way it looks will depend on the paper and how wet the nib is. To see it in action and for more details, I recommend reviews like at Mountain Of Ink or on YouTube. It has some shading and a bit of reddish sheen, and It isn’t water-resistant. Because it is dark, it’s easily readable. But even at its darkest, it is still a green and not a black. The seller shipped the bottle well cushioned in a strong cardboard box and in its original clear plastic box with the printed insert. The price was less than in some places and I have absolutely no complaints. I’m glad they offered this ink, which I have been wanting, at a price I could afford. If I see this seller with another ink or other item I want, I won’t hesitate.

I love this shade of pink, it's just so delicate. It's a true pale pink, which is what I wanted. It's a lovely cool pink.As with all Monteverde inks it doesn't like cheaper paper (I think it's the additive they use) but I have it in a 1.1mm stub nib, so a thinner nib, like midium or fine, could yield better results.I'll definitely buy it again.

The ink flows well and behaves nicely but beyond that it has nothing going for it.For this price you could buy an interesting green Diamine ink.

Monteverde California Teal is everything I enjoy about fountain pen inks. Its good flow combined with its ability to produce vibrant color variations makes for an expressive writing experience. The only problem came from the bottle itself. When the ink dries on the treading the cap becomes very difficult to remove. So you might want to wipe down the threads after inking and before closing. In the box:1 -boxed fountain pen ink bottle 3oz (90ml)Introduction:Monteverde California Teal is a dark greenish teal ink for use in fountain pens. The ink is made by Monteverde Ink in E.U. and packaged in USA as stated on the package. Monteverde California Teal ink features ink treatment formula (ITF) which is said to help with ink flow and pen lubrication.Ink Properties: Features Monteverde ITF Technology which Monteverde says:-improves ink flow-lubricates and protects ink feeding system from clogging and corrosion-extends cap off time before ink starts to dry-improved dry time when applied to paperColor:California Teal is a medium saturated ink that can vary from a dark green coloring to light teal when diluted. The ink also dries as a bright reddish sheen in spots where it has pooled and concentrated.Pelikan 4001 Dark Green Ink is very similar to Monteverde California Teal in color but California Teal has more sheen and a hint more teal undertones. Looking at the color swatches (see photo) California Teal clearly favors the green side of the spectrum.Performance:Monteverde California Teal is a pleasure to use. It has a wonderful ease of flow while still behaving on the paper. It reminds me of Pilot’s Iroshizuku Kon-Peki ink in terms of how it performs. The medium color saturation is rich and vibrant without being too dark. It produces beautiful shading when used with the correct combination of nib and paper quality. If you look closely at the writing sample (see photos) hints of sheen are visible.I found the dry time to be good to average. The increased ink flow will naturally increase dry times in any pen but using a fine nib with average flow I had no issues. Once dry the ink will run if exposed to water. If you’re using it for important notes you make want to consider a more water resistant ink.For sketching the ink provides a smooth and continuous flow. The strokes are quick and immediate. Applying water with a brush allows the color run and blend.Cleaning:I found California Teal to be an easy ink to clean. Flushing out of my Wing Sung 601(pen) with water removed most of the ink. The pen being transparent I could see that some ink remained in between threading and in the tight gaps along the nib. I took the nib unit apart and after a quick rinse with water all ink was removed. Conclusion:Monteverde California Teal really surprised me with how well it flowed while still behaving itself on paper. It is a high quality ink that produces bright vivid greens and teals with a touch of bling thanks to a healthy dose of reddish sheen. This ink opened my eyes about Monteverde Inks and I would be glad to try other colors in their product line.Pros:-good controlled flow-easy cleaning-produces beautiful shading and red sheen (depends on paper and nib)-Big bottle at a good priceCons:-Color name is misleading.-bottle cap can be difficult to remove if ink dries on threads-not water resistant so be careful with important documents.Pens Used In Photos-TWSBI 580 Pen Used in sketch-TWSBI ECO Medium used in writing sample-Wing Sung 601 used in writing sample

Supplied in a generous 90ml bottle at a very good price despite being imported from the USA - other imported inks are far more expensive. The colour is rich and deep with no obvious hints of green, blue or brown that others seem often to show. The ink is regarded as 'dry' and it is quite viscous but Monteverde use their IFT technology to restore better flow and to lubricate the pen's innards and nib - the method works extremely well. On paper, the written line is juicy and thick but dries quickly within about 10 seconds. A broad-nibbed pen was used which translates to a little more ink being transferred and slightly longer drying times. A fine nib would reduce both effects.Due to its native high viscosity, the ink is best matched to nibs and/or individual pens that are considered to be naturally wet writers, compensating for their high rate of ink flow. Monteverde's inks will be suitable for use in most of the premium pen brands (Waterman not so well) as characteristics are similar to their self-branded products and most of the reputable Japanese brands (Pilot, Sailor, Platinum etc). Thus far, of the few colours purchased, each behaves similarly in a small variety of pens of differing brands. The range comprises 21 main colours, plus a couple of specialised highlighter inks (only to be used in suitable pens), which is a reasonably wide selection without confusing by having too many shades of a single colour. Other than this black, there are a few more blues than other individual colours which also include one or more shades of green, red, brown, violet and purple. These are the more commonly used colours but the range is periodically expanded.Inexpensive and highly recommended.
