The ink lightens as it dries to a dusty medium blue and dark graphite gray. It’s underwhelming, but if I’m writing pages of notes and drafts, and having to go back and review them, it’s nice to have a subtle ink that isn’t assaulting to the retinas. Overall a well behaved “office” ink.

Good Performing permanent ink. Highly water resistant when dry. Negative is that it goes from black to a matte grey when dry; side benefit is that you know when the ink is totally dry. Should be labeled as documental graphite. Basically when dry it looks very similar to a darker pencil like a 2b-4b depending on the nib size of your fountain pen. Very permanent, solid dark grey ink.

This brand ink has never let me down and quickly became my favorite after buying "California Teal".This bottle of ink is not only lubricated to keep my pen working each and every time, but is also permanent, making it suitable for watercolor illustration, writing, and so much more. It works on cheap paper as well as fountain pen papers.

The ink container was sealed and seemed old. Color was good but was not as “wet” as expected per other pen sites. Flow was very constricting in a Conklin minigraph and dried in the nib quicker than expected.

This is a wonderful, very rich, dark, permanent, black ink. You can throw water on it alcohol markers. Anything you can think of because it is permanent when dry, and will not move. Definitely recommend this product.

I love fountain pens. I have a few.I tried the ink Pilot sells. Pilot makes some great pens, even their cheapest.Even after many weeks, it ran.This ink says it may run.Well, after days it ran slightly.After weeks, hardly at all.If you use fountain pens as your main means of writing, buy this ink.I looked long and hard for a permanent ink. This works.

Encre résistante (il serait mensonger de dire indélébile) et satisfaisante ; elle reste néanmoins quelque peu trop liquide et dans des plumes B voire BB, elle coule quelque fois.

It's surprising how many shades of black there are; this one is really a dark graphite grey with a tiny hint of green to it.There are more intense blacks out there (and sometimes I would prefer them) but for day-to-day writing this is a very nice waterproof ink that flows well. Wettened with water, there is a slight smearing of pigment but nothing drastic and the words remain very legible. 99 percent of the ink stays where it should be.I like the big bottle - not sure if Monteverde will continue selling it in these quantities as they have realised they can sell 30ml bottles for almost the same price as 90ml - but this amount of ink should last me a long, long time.Some inks you buy and use only once, but this is a really pleasant & useful ink.
