The first couple were defective but I returned it and got another 2 that worked perfectly. I have a pt cruiser and it holds the big trunk open easily and has enough power to hit you in the face when you open it if you're not careful lmao. Usually the gate is heavy and has a hard time staying up but with these, once you open it to about 25% the gate will then fly up faster than I expected because the supports are that strong. Feels great considering how cheap the price is.

They broke just after 2 years of use and I hardly use my lift gate on my pt cruiser. Do not buy go for another brand that’s made to last longer than 2 years.

So I watched a video on Youtube on how to replace the Lift Supports and I looked up the Model Number that he showed on the packaging. Now the images on the Amazon seller page is in a different language and doesn't show any screws in the picture. When I asked the community, no one remembered if the lift support came with screws or not, the manufacture even responded to my question and said, "No, it doesn't." Which then worries me that the manufacturer has no idea which product they're selling.Either that or it's completely random and at that point what a bit worrisome. So I'm posting an image of what I got so that any future buyer can see that the photo's on the page do not represent what I got. Though this is what was shown in the Youtube video and what I wanted. I took one star off due to the manufacture for not understanding what I meant by screws or not knowing they do come with them.In the video he installed these on a '02 Touring edition and seeing as they fit my '05 Touring edition shows that the lift system for the trunk seems to be the same across the board. The auto repair place I was going to take my car to was going to charge me $157 to have both changed out and getting a t-40 for my power drill I had this installed in like 5 minutes. I did have to have someone hold the trunk up a little higher to get the bottom screw lined up, but beyond that it was cake.I order a third-party that came with a set and the bottom screw would not line up no matter what and I ended up returning them. I may had to pay slightly more for this, but it was worth it. I still need to get one more, but I held off getting the second one until I could find out if these did or did not some with screws.

These fit my '03 PT Cruiser perfectly and were easy to install w/ a little help from YouTube. By contrast, the dealer wanted $50+ a piece for oem parts! My old lift supports were so worn that after I put these in the lift gate nearly hit me in the head as it springs open with much less effort.

Went on and worked well on our 2006 Chrysler PT cruiser. The old ones had worn out and couldn't even keep the hatchback door up anymore. Was a big relief that these went on easy. Recommend two people do this. One to hold the door while the other changes out the lift!

I was in need for new gas struts for my Pt Cruiser hatch back. They were $50.00 each at any auto shop, I paid way less and they worked perfectly.

Fit my 2001 PT Cruiser perfectly! My old lifts lost their holding power, these work great. They are very strong, it takes a bit of effort to pull the the trunk down and you have to make sure the trunk is really closed or the lights in the car will stay on for a while so close it hard. So much better than getting hit in the head when you try to put things in the back. They probably will take less effort once they are used for a while. I'm so glad I replaced my old ones and these were reasonably priced and arrived quickly.
