I'm new to wiring and stuff for audio. I got these and followed a guide. They work great. Not issues so far. Even ordered some more for spares after.

These make quick work of connecting bare speaker wires to your banana jack equipped amplifier or speakers. Simply put the bare wire through the hole and tighten the knurled knob. Then connect to the banana jacks on your amp or speakers. Added feature is that they are stackable. If you want to connect a second set of speakers, or bi-wire if your speakers are equipped for that, an additional set of these jacks plug into the first set.

I picked up several pairs of these a few months ago because they were low cost and well reviewed. They were easy to connect but I had problems with my speaker wires pulling out even when the plug was screwed all the way closed. This probably wouldn't be an issue with heavier gauge speaker wire or wires that had been tinned on the ends. My only real complaint is that one of the tips broke off in my receiver when I went to unplug the speaker recently. This is the first time I've unplugged it since installing these plugs and I'm careful to have plenty of slack on my speaker wires so they don't pull at the back of my reciever. I think it was just a manufacturing defect with that plug. The other thing to keep in mind is that these will add and inch or more to the depth of your receiver when plughed into the back. More if you connect the wires axially. This wasn't a problem for our old TV stand but our new stand is fairly shallow so my receiver sticks out slightly from the front. To be clear this wasn't an issue with these plugs, just our lack of planning in accommodating the increased depth do to the plugs and wires.I would buy these again if I were budget conscious and didn't mind replacing one or two if they fail. They work fine and make plugging my stereo in sooooo much easier. I'm going to keep the ones I have but if any more snap I'm going to cough up for some heavier duty and lower profile ones.

These are horrible. They do the job, but are not the easiest to get it right and they are sloppy. I bought these for my atmos speakers. All the rest in my system are Mediabridge. So much easier and neater. A bit more money, but worth it. I will replace these soon. See the difference in picture.

A set of five pairs, for $10? That's a deal!No instructions -> Figuring them out isn't an obvious thing (given the sizable number of reviews/pix using the plug-stacking side hole, to mount the wires):It's pretty easy, checkout Ealan Osborne's "monoprice" YouTube video tip (strip _very little_: you want ~ 1/4" of bare wire sticking out past the end of the barrel, splaying out the individual wires across the barrel top, and avoid crossing them into the threads, then screw the plug into the barrel), and Barbara Chambers recommendation to _use two pairs of pliers_ to tighten the coarse thread connection down to _firmly_ grip those splayed wires. If you've got too much wire overlapped, and it's tearing the spayed wires off, strip back further, trim the end and try it again. You may have to attempt it a few times but that combo gets it done.I've got some old thick-insulation monster 12ga wire, that wouldn't even fit up the barrel, so I simply stripped enough to traverse the barrel + 1/4". Easy peasy.Just bought another set. :D
