Get the most out of your home audio system by ensuring the best connection from your speaker cable to your receiver with the Sewell deadbolt banana plugs. Using self crimping teeth These plugs provide a simple, secure, and low profile connection without requiring soldering or screws. These 1.6” inch plugs are extremely low profile making it so you can put your speakers or receiver closer to the wall. The Sewell deadbolt banana plug have a 24K gold plated steel tip for crystal clear audio and superior durability. Installation one of the best things about the deadbolt banana plugs is that installation is quick, secure, and requires no tools. Just follow these steps. Feed the cable through the bottom piece. Push the cable back over the teeth on the bottom piece. Screw the top piece to the bottom one. You're finished. All in all you should only need 10-20 seconds for this entire operation. What are banana plugs? Today, many electronics use the banana plug interface, also known as binding post (referring to This connection in its female form). this female binding post connection that accepts this banana plug is found commonly on virtually all audio/video receivers, speaker wall plates, and more. Banana plugs offer an alternative to inserting a bare speaker wire into the equipment. Often a bare speaker connection is not as reliable as a assured banana plug connection. Wires tend to get pulled out or frizzy after time passes. Banana plugs require only one install, giving you a permanent and robust connector at the end of your speaker wire.

I’ve used several banana clips in the past and these are the best ones yet. Very easy to use, easy to thread the wire thru, and make a solid and tight connection.

These are simple to use banana plugs. I had 16 gauge wire and doubled it up going into a single plug. I had to trim away a little of the plastic casing where it sticks into the plug but they fit. I haven't had any issue with my speaker connections and it's much easier to pull out the banana plug to swap speakers than to remove and thread the wire each time.

I grabbed the banana and spade plugs both - build quality is high, threads to assemble are machined perfectly, and they work very well. I built cables with 14 and 12awg wire both and they both worked as expected with no issues during assembly, connectivity, or in actual use passing sound. I was interested in having good speaker cable, good connections into my amp and speakers, and good overall sound. Most of the crazy expensive speaker cables are 8 feet - I needed 25 footers to work with my setup - so I grabbed some Mogami and Canare cable, shrink wrap, wire loom, and these cable ends and built some very nice cables. It would be nice to A/B these with some of the AQ or other expensive banana or spade connectors, but $50 per pair is a lot and I really think they would sound the same in most systems. If you're stuck $15k or more you may opt to go the expensive route. For everyone else, buy with confidence and make high quality cables with these cable ends. If I need more I'll order these for sure. Quality product.

Great design & built to last. Nice looking and very easy to install. They are thick, but fit standard 3/4” spaced banana jacks easily. They will accept any stranded wire up to 12, maybe even 10 gauge.

The Sewell banana plug is sturdy, well finished gold contact lugs, has a unique mushroom wire spreading way of making a solid connection. Lug cap and body part have perfectly machined threads which you rarely find in any components these days. The mushroom wire spreading technique took a couple of tries before I got it perfect. It is a great connection without any set screws or solder. The key is dont strip your wire more than 1/4" or when you mushroom/spread the wire strands over the center post they will be too long and will get caught in the threads as you screw the two parts together. I would give this 5 stars but out of 24 pair (48 banana plugs) 8 of them had banana contacts that were too skinny to make tight contact. I had to use the blade of an artist knife to gently spread the slots on the banana so it was a "fatter" and made better contact. A nice terminal component like Sewell which weren't cheap, should have better quality control IMHO.
