  • Test calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) level in water. Suitable for brackish water and seawater with the salinity higher than 5 part per thousand (ppt).
  • For freshwater and marine aquarium and aquaculture, pond water, ground water, drinking water
  • Ca range from 0 – 800 part per million (ppm) with the resolution of 40 ppm per drop. Mg range from 0 – 1725 ppm with the resolution of 50 ppm per drop.
  • Can measure 120 tests
  • Easy to use, accurate, fast test, economic

Determine calcium, magnesium in water samples for aquarium and aquaculture. The water sample can be brackish water and seawater with the salinity higher than 5 ppt. It is designed to be compact size and allow to measure 120 times. The test can be performed simply, quickly and easily. This titration test kit first carry out the calcium test (0 – 800 ppm), which has a sharp color change, going from pink to blue when reach the calcium level in the sample. Then follow by the magnesium test (0 – 1725 ppm) which also has a significant color change, going from orange to green, when reach the magnesium level in the sample.

Convenient that it’s an all in one, however, the calcium test is always 15-25% higher than API and Salifert tests. Both tests report at ppm Ca.

Dose not test well with lower values. DOSE NOT TEST TO 0ppm. The magnesium test told my nothing and is not accurate for my levels. My calcium is at 100 according to the api test and it said 50 because it dose not test that low. Do not buy for fresh water tanks! And they are the only ones that have a video on how to and it sucks it is just the same thing as the pamphlet it comes with. No explanation on what it should do or not do! Basically if you are on the bottom quarter of the chart don't use this test.

I wanted to see how well this kit might work to test wee for Ca and Mg and it worked perfectly. Use 5 milliliters (use a syringe) + 1 drop R1 + 1 drop R2 for Ca. There should be no color change on R1 (unless there is contamination from a previous test) and just cloudiness. Shake vigorously for at least 10 shots. Add 1 drop of R2 and it should be a rose color. Then titrate with T until there is no rose color and it will be a green color (versus blue due to wee). 6 drops would be ideal Calcium (not too much not to little). For Mg, in 5 mil add the scoop and again shake vigorously. It may appear green at first but you can beat it into an army brown color. Then titrate w/ T till all the brown shade is gone (green again - can be vivid green for true endpoint). Ideally it should take more drops for Mg endpoint than Ca endpoint. Good way to check Mg supplements are working (or if Ca is overwhelming).

Compared to my other test kit which is almost expired this is only 5% different on the readings. I paid 4x the price for my other test kit.

Calcium test is dead on accurate. It's easy to titrate because the bottle design and large viles are better than any other test on the market. Results compare to ProLab with very low margin of error. Mag test is also accurate but titrating uses a lot of T fluid no different than other kits. Excellent value for the money.

tested with name brand kits with same results ,like the fact it has a wider range, also like the dropper bottles instead of syringes , small spoon connected to lid means you'll never loose it.But most importantly it's accurate and being 2 into 1 it easier and half the cost seems to last a long time too at first I was skeptical never heard of it , now it would be painful to go back to the old routine with separate kits I highly recommend it.Dont let the generic no name scare you.

I’m glad I took so much chemistry because it made this really easy. My mag was low so I added some, waited a day, it was still low, added some more, and test showed better results. Makes sense to me! Also like not having to use 2 separate test kits.
