As much as I wish I could say they were defective, I can’t. They are easy to use and worked as expected. I placed one in a known mold area and one in a small room with air purifier as controls. The other three I opened in 3 common rooms. The known mold area one grew a gross science experiment, the air purifier room grew nothing and the other three grew several spores of penicillin.To confirm the mold I emailed a pic the provided email and they responded quickly.

These tests are great. The kit really is all inclusive. It came with the tests, swabs, labels, and gloves. Plus- the best part is that it has a very informative sheet on different ways to remove different types of mold.

Got this to help teach biology and it works great. Really easy to use just follow instructions, if you are actually testing for mold in your house this is a great product for an initial inspection and inexpensive would also recommend if you Just want teach your kids as well.

Comes with five pre-made agar dish. Very easy to use. Comes with ziplock bags, labels, swabs, and detailed instructions on how to collect your sample, how to store it, how to view which types of mold grew, and how to properly dispose of the dish when done. We checked for air mold in both the bathrooms and no sign of mold grew. We also tested physical surfaces of door knows, shower tile, and the kids wanted to test there shoe. So many funky things grew! Really good starter kit that comes with everything you need to test for mold.
