Are received the Miracle Grow Composter very quickly. All the parts present. I watched a video online as well as printed out he online directions on how to put together. Video seemed to show a woman putting it together. I don't recommend that. it was very hard to push the plastic clip that holds the sides together. I tried and finally after much effort got them together.. It was not easy and very hard on my poor hands. Much easier for a man with a lot of strength. Also they said to start with the side that had the Miracle Grow label. The labels two thick plastic disc had lost their stick and had fallen off in the packing box. So not sure if it works easier to start with that side. Once I got those together the next step was to put the single piece top on the sides then to repeat with the other end and then with the other barrel top and botteom . I thought putting the sides together was a challenge but this was far worse. Video shows it as a piece of cake. Just push down on the top connecting to the sides until they click together. I pushed and manage to get one panel to think but none of the others. Tried the second barrel with same results. Watch the video a few more times. Reread the instruction sheets again. My husband tried with no success. Finally called the Miracle Grow people. They suggested I place the barrel in the sun for 4 hrs. then try. Thinking the plastic would soften a bit. Problem was I live in the Northwest and we were having rain and winter temps. Put the barrels up on my dining room table and kept trying for about 3 days. Manage to get one more panel together. Thankfully my son in law a carpenter came over and with very strong hands pushed the top lids and bottom lids. Once that was taken care of the rest was pretty easy. I have yet to start my first compost but hope it will do it's job and holds together as hard as it was to put together. Don't recommend unless you have a lot of strength. Based on that I only gave it 3 stars but will see results of operation before commenting on that hoping for 5 stars

Nice little composter, good design except for the closures which tend to not fit as well as anticipated, and are not as easy to close as I’d like. Set up was easy, and the stand has held up so far through a hard winter.

Where to begin! We purchased this tumbler to replace an old large composter that had finally worn out after years of use. The instructions included with the tumbler leave much to be desired. The end panels need to be installed after the six main panels have been clipped together. The main panels are flimsily connected making it difficult to get the end panels aligned and snapped in place. The instructions say to lay the end panels on the ground and them put the main panels in place. Problem is, you cannot see where the panels and the end cap line up. So, I had to place the main panels on the floor and then snap the end panel in place after lining up the slots and tabs. This process was difficult requiring the use of a rubber mallet to properly set the end caps. to make matters worse, the main panels are attached to one another with flimsy plastic clips. When I snapped the clips in place per the instructions, three of them broke. The manufacturer must know that this is a problem because they included extra clips in the parts bag. Once assembled and in use my wife had two of the panel clips fail and had to use Gorilla Duct Tape to re-secure them to the tumbler. At the very least, the panel clips should be made of metal and it would be helpful to revise the instructions. For the price, this was not worth it and when we decided we needed a 2nd tumbler we purchased another one from Amazon for $40.00 less. It was assembled using stainless steel nuts and bolts not flimsy plastic clips. The assembled tumbler is far superior to the Miracle Grow tumbler and only cost $80.00. Buyer beware if you decide to purchase this item!!

When I put this together I was concerned. It looks low quality but it's not. Directions suck, but it works. Super happy no mice in the regular trash anymore, smell in the house is better. Compost doesn't smell a lot and it good for the planet. Win win

I've had my Miracle-Gro composter for three years and have been very happy with its performance and ability to turn my house hold compostables into high quality compost. Recently, the unit was damaged in a move, after contacting the manufacturer, they connected me to the replacement parts - fast and easy.Highly recommend the unit.

I now have two of these composters in different sizes. They are easy to assemble snd do a terrific job of composting vegetable scraps and chicken manure.

I gave my dad this composter for Father's day. He's a versatile dude, liking both outdoorsy things and tech. He can be a hard to get gifts for each year, but I nailed it with this. The double barrel composter is large, but they had smaller options available. This size is what I knew would work well for the amount of food scraps/waste my parents produce and the size of their backyard/patio. It was easy to assemble, and once assembled, it is sturdy. It has been in use for over 6 months now and doing great. The doors slide and seem sturdy, but are also simple. It isn't reasonable to expect they would walk outside in the cold winter months just to drop an egg shell in, so I got them a small counter top sized container with an odor proof lid to dump their scraps in and take out once a week once full. It hasn't been a full year yet, but they are planning to use the compost as soil when spring comes again. They are currently using one barrel for scraps and have put the other 'out of commission' to let to product decompose into soil. My dad loves it. It is low maintenance, he only spins it once a day or so when in the backyard doing other projects. He's excited to use the soil in his plant beds this spring and feels good not throwing useful scraps in the trash.

I thought this product in theory would be great as a roller is more efficient to compost quickly, and this does that. Unfortunately the product construction is a huge fail. As the weight of the compost increases (we use ours almost daily) there are only these little clips to hold the barrels together and they fail miserably. We will end up having to duct tape the compartments together as they constantly bust open when you try to spin the barrel. As well the barrels are starting to lean into each other on the middle because of this weight. And the compartments not staying sealed up leak compost fluids and compost out as they cannot stay closed. Don't buy this composter, save your money.*Product Update- contacted the seller and they sent new clips that are far superior in design and quality installed them and they are sturdy and working great!

I was quite happy when I first received the product. However, when I finally assembled it and started using it...I discovered a major issue which render it useless. It is structurally unsound because it started to buckle as I fill it to less than 1/3 full of regular kitchen produce scraps. I am afraid that it will drop off the content if I rotate the basket. So it sits in my yard prettily now with no function. By the way, it was not convenient not to provide the assembly instruction and therefore, have to look it up from the website as well.

Good so far, I can’t speak to it’s effectiveness with composting yet cause it too soon to tell, however the size is good, turns without problems and feels sturdy. As for those people who say it was difficult to put together, the only way that is the case is if they didn’t follow the online step by step guide with pictures they provide the link for. Those instructions were so easy that often I had to skip “steps” because I already did it before they showed the next picture. Don’t download the “printable instructions”- they were not helpful.
