Really liked using this tool but unfortunately it just failed. Was straightening out some coiled stainless steel 3/8 fuel line and the gears sheared the teeth off. How they broke shows that the material used was too brittle. Probably the third time using it to straighten out this type of line, it’s not easy to straighten, but the gears just couldn’t handle it.

I was skeptical about ordering this tool because some of the the reviews suggested low quality. The item I received well-exceeded my expectations. I have not tried it with stainless steel tubes, but for copper tubes it is a nice tool and it works great.The tool is much easier to use than the alternative "soda can" hand tools. I is also 50% less expensive and it is adjustable for different tube diameters. In essence, this $45 tool replaces $200 worth of "soda can" tube straighteners.The tool can be mounted on a bench or simply installed in a vise. All gears/wheels are heavy duty and machined well. The tool comes with a drive socket.The center bold has very little play. I would exercise caution with harder stainless steel tubes. Straightening new coiled stainless tubes should not be a problem, but if you need to straighten excessively bent materials, be careful to not apply too much stress on the bolt.I do recommend this product, it offers great price to function ratio.

Will not work on stainless lines. Top adjustment knob stripped out from trying to add preload. This item is trash don't waste your money.
