The steel it's made from isn't strong or stiff enough to resist bending a bit when some pressure is applied, hence the four star rating rather than five. I used it to mash some ripe avocado the other day, and though it worked, I had to straighten it a bit at the end because it bent a little.

I ordered two of these, one for mashing avocado's, the other for my cats food as they are quite old and need their food mashing, a lot easier than a fork, easy to wash, easy to hold. Perfect , value for money

I previously owned a plastic one which broke and then discovered this little gem. Works perfectly and is very strong. A great price too! Would certainly recommend.

This is a very sturdy little masher. I was looking for something to mash up my dog's food, because sometimes he'll eat it with lumps and sometimes he won't. Rather than having dirty forks piling up, I thought I would check this out for the very minimal investment. It mashes well and rinses clean. Plus, the way that the handle is shaped it actually give me more mashing force than just a fork does. Plus, it came super quickly. Happy, weird purchase!

This little tool is extremely well made and has made my life a little easier. My son has complex medical issues and I must make fresh soup six times daily. This allows me to mash veggies in a small saucepan with ease and cleans up easily. I have used it no less than 200 times at this point and it is as good as new.

with my arthritic hands i have to mash up my little dog's veggies for her. her bowl is small and this masher is perfect for the job! the back smooshes against the bowl's sides while the centre part smashes. this is a time saver and so much more efficient than me using a fork. worth every dime.

I use it to mash fruit (blueberries, strawberries, oranges...) in my adult beverages! The build is strong and the head is small enough to fit into the bottom of the glass. The handle is compact, but long enough.

Don't know how I got along without one of these. Perfect design, shaft doesn't bend, use mostly for avocados but also worked for potatoes.

I use it for my dogs can food. It's so packed and solid a spoon bends and this masher is a perfect size and it's solid.
