Handle is comfortable. Good quality. I think it is a Chinese product.

This is not a good size. I made mashed potatoes for us (family of 4) and it was a struggle. I also hated that the potatoes kept getting stuck in the holes and had to be cleaned out to mash the potatoes. We ended up with lump potatoes. I think it needs to be bigger. It's sturdy and nicely made but I didn't like using it.

This masher has oval holes on a rounded base and essentially "rices" the potatoes, meaning forces them through a die to break them up and add some air (mashing just smashes them down.)The bottom is slightly rounded and the package advertises that one side of the edge is flattened so the masher won't roll off the counter if you set it down. Well! I'd take the engineer by the ears who thought of that and say "Dude! Flatten BOTH sides, then you won't have to worry which side you set down. Duh!" Really. But with the big smooth acrylic or ABS handle and the ricing type of masher, this beast works wonders on mashies. Which, we all love for holidays. So, I like it.

As far as potato mashers go, this one is can easily become my favorite!!! This is supposed to go to my daughter who is starting her own kitchen. I like it so much, she may be receiving my old one instead. I have a nylon masher that is more expensive. It does not even come close to the quality of this one that cost less.I love the design. The masher itself is made of aluminum. The masher is curved. This is an awesome feature and I kind of wonder why not every masher is made this way. I often mash the potatoes in a bowl. The flat headed masher is always a little difficult in mashing what is on the very bottom of the bowl. It is strong and durable. It does not bend even when pressed. There is a flat end on the masher. I can put it on the counter and it won't roll away. The handle is very comfortable. The plastic grips to your hand.I boiled some a potato to mash and tried it out. It mashes potatoes with ease. I mashed it in the pot. The curved masher performed very well. I mashed up and down and side to side. It reached the potatoes on the side of the pot as well as in the middle.

We've had a potato masher for years and never really had a problem with it. Then, we got this one to try. Wow! What a difference! Farberware got every part of this product right!!The handle is molded so that it fits right into your hand the right way. It has curved edges all around so that there are no sharp corners digging into your palm. The part that attacks the potatoes (or other veggies) is curved, so if you are working in a smaller mixing bowl, it gets every particle of whatever it is that you are mashing. The holes are sized just right so that the mashing action produces a mashed result with no lumps. I like to mash and then rotate my wrist at the end to get a smooth result and I definitely got that. Last night, I made a guacamole and it was almost too smooth and creamy as we like a slightly lumpy guac. Not the fault of the tool, I hasten to add.Definitely a vast improvement on a kitchen tool that I thought could not be improved on. Bravo Farberware!

I have a potato masher but I wanted something a little more sturdy. I saw a chef take a potato masher and use it in a hot pan for ground beef and it worked fantastically. I hate to have to stand over the stove and constantly separate the ground beef with a spatula or big spoon. This made the process so much easier! This is really what I was looking for. It has the small holes but is absolutely sturdy and you can really put some elbow grease behind this when you use it. It has a silicone or rubberized handle so it's not super slippery and I popped it in the dishwasher twice without a problem. I honestly don't even know if you're supposed to or not but hopefully it won't hurt the longevity because I do like it. It has a rounded shape on the bottom that works well in a bowl or rounded pot to get the edges.
