This little fan does a great job of cooling my small 2 gallon aquarium. The tank was way too hot at 84°F (29°C) but the fan managed to bring it down to73°F (23°C). It's fairly quiet, not really noticeable amongst the background noise of the tank filtration system.Remember though this and other fans cool the water off by forced evaporation, so your tank will lose water from evaporation much faster than normal so keep some treated water for the your tank handy for when you get this fan.

Reduced temperature 3-4 degrees alone with this fan and is suitable. Might get another for the other side of tank or for a backup. For other ideas we took the plastic base off bottom of tank, added a usb laptop cooler underneath, hanged light canopy above tank so it's not as hot. Amigo the fish thanks you. Recommend this for a small tank.

I was a bit skeptical about getting this fan because I saw that it is returned frequently, but I was desperate because I was worried about my betta fish "Gratitude". His tank never read 78 degrees (which I'm learning is the ideal temp for a betta fish) even after taking the heater off, the thermometer would read water temperatures as high as 88 degrees.My apartment is very hot now (July) as there are air conditioners only in the bedrooms. I have an aqueon bow 2.5 gallon and it was an exact fit for the lip of the fish tank . Only thing you cannot cover the aquarium with its cover. The tank's water temp has never been at 78 degrees, but since getting this little fan it has. I have an internal thermometer to assess the water temperature. I am very pleased. I know the hot days have just started so I'm thinking of getting a second one as backup.

My tank got to 77 today and I had ice in the tank, plus another fan, on top of this one. Not only is it loud, but it does not seem to work very well. I will keep trying.

I got my mom a small 1.8 gallon tank, and it would NOT go under 25 Celsius, which cooked our ghost shrimp. I was in dire need of something to keep this tiny tank cooler. I finally found a place for the fan to fit without being visually obtrusive, and lo and behold, within an hour, the tank hit 24 Celsius! It fidgeted between 25 and 24 for another 30 minutes, but has stayed a steady 24 since. Honestly, this little fan saved my mom’s tank and saved us both from heartache! I absolutely recommend this product!!!
