Awesome saw, but you have to setup a guide sense you can't see the blade while cutting. Clean cuts and cuts effortlessly thru 1/2 inch steel. I would also get the 12ah forge battery if you're going to be cutting a lot.

Many years ago I had purchased a cheap foreign made metal cutting saw and the drive shaft snapped on the first cut. I had stayed away from the metal cutting saws for many years after that, but recently I had another situation where I needed a saw for cutting steel and decided to give the Milwaukee a try.The saws does not disappoint, but you really want the 12ah battery for best performance. The only downside is, in spite of having a chip catcher, a considerable amount of chips still get sprayed around. The saw is best used outside.

If you don't have one of these for metal fabrication you are missing out. It is awesome.

Why didn’t I buy one of these years ago?Solid tool, cuts well with the correct blade!Eats through 1/2 plate no problem. Batteries are expensive but worth it to not have to be tied to a power cord.

Cuts steel faster than a regular circular saw can cut a wooded 2x4. Does make a mess of fine chips, but it catches nearly all of them in it's own retainment reservoir. Just have to remember to dump it once on a while.

I cut 16’ of 1/4 plate on the first day with this saw. I used a 12.0 battery and it used one bar in 16’ of cuts. Saw is a beast it does throw chips everywhere but it catches almost as much.Highly recommended tool for steel. The one down side to me is following a line is almost impossible as you can see the blade. I used a piece of angle and clamped it to the steel and used it as a guide.

The saw does cut well but you can’t see the cut. All you have is the line on the front of the saw plate to go by. For right hand cutting, you can’t use a speed square because the motor is in the way. Swap the motor to the other side and give a window to see the cut and it would be great. Retuning it for these reasons.
