For ages I’ve struggled with consistent French knots. My bullion stitches were a mess. Thought it was just me. Then I read about using milliners needles. Oh my stars! I had know idea the needle could be so influential on the stitch outcome! These needles are fantastic. Don’t hesitate.

I purchased the milliner size 3/9 for general garment basting, and some soft hat making. John James co. has been around for a long time, and I like the consistent quality of the needles.There’s a good assortment of lengths in this pack. The shorter ones have slightly narrower eyes. I use a needle threader for both. The old inexpensive tin threaders with a wire work fine enough.
