Don't overtighten inner nut on the bearing. Hand tight for some people can be too tight. Check to see if the wheel spins well before torquing the outer nut, or risk damaging your wheel bearings. It works exactly as it should, installing these just takes a little bit of care.

These went on very easily, especially for having the old hubs be ground down and missing most of the little parts. Takes maybe an hour if you’ve installed or replaces manual Locking hubs before.

Inner lock tabs shear off with only 50 lbs of torque.Instructions advise to torque to 150 lbs.And I’m a 30 year licensed technician, not my first time.Bought some other brand from local supplier, much better quality.

As you know, failure of this part will result in total loss of control over your vehicle.I installed this product as per the manufacturer's instructions, and torqued everything to the specified amounts in Ford's workshop manuals. While I was driving around 50mph the truck veered sharply and dangerously to the affected side. A horrible grinding noise ensued. I had to get assistance in getting the vehicle home to my garage. I had only had this part installed for about 3 days, less than 100 miles. As you can see in the photo, the lock washer was made too big for the application advertised. This resulted in the nut becoming loose during operation of the vehicle. The resulting failure damaged components on the truck that will now need to be replaced, costing me time and money. As the axle nut became loose the lock washer rotated around inside damaging the threads on the spindle which will now need replacement. The wheel bearings will also need to be replaced as they are undoubtedly filled with metal filings from the damage.I am currently arbitrating through Amazon for compensation for the damage and major inconvenience.

Parts do what they're supposed to do, had a decent price, I'm happy that my Explorer now has manual hubs instead of automatic, just a great buy. Was a little leery of the instructions when it said to torque the first nut at 35 ft-lbs, back it off 90* and retorque to 16 in-lbs, but nothing wrong has come of all this, so I guess it's right!
