The Midwest Gas Can 5 Gallon Auto Shut Off Safe-Flo portable fuel container is the ultimate solution for safely storing, transporting, and dispensing fuel. Our portable plastic fuel containers all come equipped with our exclusive FlameShield Safety System which was developed to address growing consumer concerns for safety related to personal fuel containers. This two-piece system provides consumers with a "double layer of protection" from accidental fires that can result when improperly handling and storing gasoline and other flammable liquids. The first part of the system is an internal flame mitigation device that has been independently tested to reduce the risk of injury when used near fire or sparks. This device helps prevent dangerous flame jetting or combustion if the container is exposed to a spark or fire. The second part of the system is our vapor locking Quick-Flow Spout. In addition to the spout’s safety features, it includes an automatic closing mechanism for efficient usage and its self-venting system delivers up to 2.5X faster pouring, with an auto shutoff to prevent overfilling and spills. The automatic closing valve ensures a tight seal which prevents leaks and ensures efficient fuel transfer. Built to exceed California Air Resources Board (CARB) and EPA standards for portable fuel containers, these plastic gas cans are made from high-quality, durable HDPE plastic, which virtually eliminates hydrocarbon emissions and resists cracking, ensuring long-lasting durability. Our plastic gas containers have a wide base and low center of gravity to reduce the chances of tipping over. The two ergonomic handles provide easy lifting and carrying, while also allowing for smooth pouring. Designed for both convenience and safety, the Midwest 5 gallon plastic gas can comes with a 1-year warranty for added peace of mind. Store fuel confidently with this high-performance container, perfect for long-term storage or on-the-go fueling.

The can itself is good. The first thing to do after getting it is to remove the stupid strainer in the can, it will just cause gas to spill. Next is to order the aftermarket can spouts and throw away the one that comes with the can. After you do this you will have a very good gas can.

The cans themselves seem to be good quality but I did have a little bit of leakage on all 4 on the seals in the cap. Not enough to be significantly dangerous, but enough to smell it in the car with the lift gate window cracked. To be fair, I put these cans through absolute hell, up and down elevation up to 9000 feet, and in temperature ranging from 34°F to 90°F in the same weekend. With that said, the cans did need to be burped once in higher elevation and warmer weather.Upon lower elevation and colder weather with the near empty cans, they slightly imploded. About a day in the sun and normal weather, they did manage to go back to original shape.I can live with the small leak around the seals, I’m just glad the cans were able to withstand the work I put them through overall. I’d give it 4.5 starts but I’ll just round up.

As someone who regularly deals with gas for lawn equipment and power tools, this can has truly transformed my experience.Comparison:In comparison to traditional gas cans that often lack safety measures, the Midwest Can provides a significant upgrade. Traditional cans can sometimes lead to spills and hazardous fumes due to ineffective spout designs and lack of safety features. It may take some time to get accustomed to the spout's design for those transitioning from traditional gas cans, but once mastered, it allows for precise pouring without mess. Users will quickly appreciate the ability to fill equipment without worrying about spills.Performance:In terms of performance, the Midwest Can excels. The valve mechanism works smoothly, providing an effortless flow of fuel without excessive pressure buildup. Additionally, the auto shut-off feature engaging at the right moment is a game-changer; it prevents overfilling and eliminates the hassle of tackling unwanted spills.Features:The FlameShield Safety System is a standout feature, designed to prevent ignitions and minimize the risk of fire when using the can close to heat sources. I ordered on October 24th. After the package was lost by FedEx I contacted the seller. After a couple days of back and forth they did finally re-ship the cans. They arrived on November 12th in good condition but be aware they were not boxed up. They arrived in a cardboard tray covered in plastic. Best to make sure there is no damage when you receive them. All in all, this was a good purchase, and I am happy with the sellers support.

What a wonderful deal for 4. Went up a few bucks just after a week but still, great deal.I like these cans b/c they come with handles on the side and an internal FILTER - wow! That’s a first and I really like these idea. Just like how I like the breather hole idea (read below) so we’ll see how durable and convenient the filter is (clogging, slowing down fuel filling, cracking etc). The handle on the side really does help with wrist ergonomics so less prone to injury when pouring out contents. All my cans have a breather hole I drilled into them. Mistake b/c the hardware for them are not uv stable and begin to crack and discolor. These new cans and any cans after, will not be drilled for breather holes.
