This item I bought for my trailer was defected, it did not work. The plug that goes into trailer connection was bad. I would not recommend this to any body. Is not worth it. Don't waste your money.

Be aware this is wired/color coded for US travel trailer/RV. If you are using a utility trailer you will have to ignore the color code and use your wiring diagram. That being said, the cord feels heavy duty and decent, the box feels fairly cheaply made and is a little large, however that extra space will come in handy if you want to add anything! For the price; worth it 100%. I took the initiative to silicone the screw holes when attaching to the trailer frame to avoid potential leakage and rust. All in all it is a pretty simple set up; you just need your wire connector of choice and I’d suggest a deep socket set as the dividers between the posts restrict easy access. If you don’t need to figure out a different wiring configuration you should be up and running in 20 min or so! (definitely not an electrician here so I have faith in you! 😉)Here is a pic of work in progress. Even with adjusting the length of the wires etc I was ready to pull, box attached and fully tested in 30 minutes. That includes replacing a fuse in the tow vehicle - (don’t worry, it was out before I started messing with the wiring). For the price and ease of installation I’d definitely buy again.

If you want to upgrade and clean up the wiring to your trailer wiring junction box, this is a great choice. The wiring is color coded and matched the wiring of my fifth wheel perfectly, the screw terminals even have the color daubed on them! The wires are already pre installed, all you have to do is loosen the nuts, attach your wires and tighten the nuts, it’s that simple. The wire gauge matched mine and the whole wiring assembly feels heavy and substantial, doesn’t seem flimsy or cheaply made. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to upgrade their wiring or even as a new installation.

Lotta good information on reviews if you encounter any issues.Great product, reasonably priced, did exactly what I needed, to add trailer brakes to an enclosed built without brakes. I added libra 3500 brake and hub assemblies. Only needed wire to complete installation. Very good upgrade if bearing replacement needed.Definitely recommend. Great product

Nice product. Gave it four stars because of the wire colors. The box comes with a nice diagram showing the color mapping for the wires. The diagram is accurate, as confirmed by probing the trailer plug terminals and junction box terminals using the multimeter's continuity function. The problem is that the wire colors must be the ones used on trailers in China and not in the U.S. So, there are two options (assuming you want to keep the box and not return it): 1. use the Chinese color mapping and keep their diagram in case you need to troubleshoot in the future; or 2. switch the wires around coming into the junction box so that the paint dots on the terminals are consistent with the U.S. standard. I chose option 2. Although I can certainly envision ten years from now (when a wiring problem occurs), someone (maybe me) is going to look in the junction box and seeing how the wire colors don't correspond to the paint dots on the terminals, will exclaim, "what idiot did this wiring job?". Given all that, this junction box is a good product, although next time I buy one I will check to see if I can find one that confirms to the wire colors used in the U.S.

I let’s start with the important concern most will have regarding the quality.This feels great in hand, heavy duty, and UV quality sheathing to protect the wiring. As a former Master Technician and Engineer the past 30 years I can say without a doubt this is a quality product.This doesn’t come with full instructions, but I do.1.) most of you will want an 8ft or shorter harness, and the box will be mounted up front.2.) You may need to reuse your existing 4 wire for lights and add a duplex wire for the brakes, or you’ll need 6 wires approx 25ft long for a 17’ flat trailer.3.) If starting with existing 4 wire than the Green is for the left turn signal and Yellow is for the right.4.) The white wire is your ground and the brown wire is for your running lights.5.) Unless you run backup lights or a 12v feature (center wire) you will only use 6 of the 7 wires.6.) The color coding for the harness is slightly different than a 4 wire so you’ll connect the above colors according to the diagram provided.7.) when wiring the trailer brakes you will connect one wire to white/black and the other wires to blue. So for a tandem axle you’ll have 8 wires going into 2. You probably want to run these in series and up one side of the trailer chassis.8.) The white wire Is connected to chassis ground and the blue wire connects to the green In the box which is blue inside the vehicle to your PBC/TBC. Why these colors are not universal through idk. Might even vary on your application.Nothing complicated here. The worse part is getting on your back to wire underside of trailer if needed.Great product, Good Luck.

Much better quality than I expected. Colour coding is set up for RV 7 pin connector. All lighting and trailer brakes now work like new!This is a well made product, I’d recommend this to anyone needing to replace their RV 7 pin connector. It took an hour and returned my camper to “happy camper” status!

Everyone that's saying this box is wired wrong needs to do a little research. The colour coding is different on a cargo trailer than a travel trailer (RV). This box is colour coded for travel trailers so you'll have to miss match a few wires if you're using it on a cargo trailer.I don't think you'll find anything like this that isn't made in China. That being said the box and cord seem to be good quality. Only reason for not 5 stars is the lack of heart shrink on the pre installed ring terminals.
