We did not end up using the smart app for these just yet, but it was very easy to connect them to power and light them up. Keep in mind these are BRIGHT. We used them for a parade, but ended up needing to wrap transparent cloth around them to dim them a bit for close proximity usage. The colors using the "Auto" option on the remote were great, and regularly changed/pulsed with different options.We used a standard 12V battery and they were still running after almost three hours of continuous use. I do wish there was an option to receive them without the flags, as that was not needed for our purposes and just generates waste. But overall we're quite pleased.

These are a good size for my side x side,fit well and were easy to install. Good remote and rocker switch. I really like the flags as well. I'm using these on the dunes for visibility, seems to work great.
