It's nice to get a part that is well made and functions perfectly. The allen wrench they sent actually fits tightly into the allen screw (what a concept). The instructions are well written and correct. They recommended an E-step of 130 but my printer actually needed 140. I'm sure that value varies slightly from machine to machine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I'd started having strange issues with poor layer adhesion and under extrusion. No amount of tweaking print settings seemed to resolve it. Finally figured I'd start swapping parts.Fortunately I thought to replace the extruder with this first. What a difference! Immediately I was able to go back to my usual print settings and everything started to work nicely again.

This was a fantastic replacement and upgrade for my CR10S. My dual gear extruder was having issues feeding, retracting, etc. Swapping in this was easy, and once calibrated it was an instant improvement in print quality. Should have done it sooner.

Next time I would probably mount it to a 1/8" plate to mount on the top, but what I did wasn't hard. Mounted easily to current stepper motor and all the holes lined up.... but you have to dremel cut off 1/8" from the provided screws as the holes in the motor are not tapped deep enough. And then mounting to the original mount I used two zip ties. The extruder tubing to the hot end is 1/16 bigger than the ferrule that they give you. Dremel cut to allow it to expand slightly and it attaches firmly. The feed is fantastic but in the opposite direction. Very, very nice that they include a reversing wire!! So easy! Prints so much better!

I have had inconsistent prints for 2 years. I always thought it my tramming was off, the filament was to wet, or my z offset was wrong. I have learned a lot about 3d printing and the fine adjustments one can make to compensate for these issues. I usually get decent prints after a few adjustments. My first layers have always been a bit sheet. Recently, I was having some serious dot dash stripping in my first layer after a filament snag failed a 1.5 day print. I spent a week troubleshooting the issue.I was so frustrated, because all the tricks I had learn to resolve first layer issues were not working. I had one print finally finish and it was a sponge. I crushed it with little effort.I finally took a close look at the stock brass (soft metal) filament feeder gears and noticed a rounding / bending of the teeth. First off, I didn't know the the filament feeder gear was brass, or I would have figured it out sooner.I picked up this bad boy for my birthday, and on my first print, I had the first layer put down so beautifully and so smooth I almost cried. The product is well made and easily put together.TIP: if you use a filament sensor and you print out the adjustment bracket provided by Micro Swiss, you will need to trim the tubing. I think the attached tubing is Capracorn PFTE. It is oil slick smooth. I think will order some as my next upgrade to replace the stock one I have.Micro Swiss has the quality you have been missing. This product will make your prints better.

I have installed the Micro Swiss dual-gear Bowden extruded on two printers - a Creality CR-10S and my Frankenstein i3 clone. This extruder is a dramatic improvement for both. I recently started printing with some matte-finish /particle-supplemented types of PLA. The standard single gear with passive roller was having a hard time feeding these filaments because they are a bit harder than regular PLA, making it difficult for the standard extruder to grip and feed. Increasing the power to the extruder stepper motor helped a bit. But these filaments really benefit from a dual gear system that maintains a positive grip on the filament, not only because the filament is harder to “bite”, but also because the particles contained inside are more difficult to pass through the standard 0.4mm nozzle opening. The upgrade to the Micro Swiss dual gear extruder solved the problem. It’s very well engineered and manufactured in the USA, very easy to install, and is a great all-around extruder for use with standard and particle-enhanced filaments. FYI - I found a ballpark steps/mm setting of 140 was optimal for both extruders on my machines. That said, this is a great product and money well spent.

The stock extruder on the Ender-3 v2 Neo is ok, but with a single gear, I was noticing feed issues from time to time and I wanted to start trying other filaments other than PLA. This unit was easy to swap out, just follow the instructions. E-steps needed to be re-calculated, but that was expected. I have noticed the teeth in the gears tend to get some filament stuck in them, so I have to use a brush or tiny flathead to clean them from time to time. Likely a tension screw issue that I need to dial in yet, but otherwise this unit has been working great.

The item arrived with all the parts loose in the box (no individual bags) resulting in scratches and marks on the parts. The package was missing the reverse polarity cable and all the parts looked worn and showed signs of previous use.The Extruder doesn't fit the Ender 5 pro stepper motor as the shaft is too short and does not have a flat point on the shaft for the new gear grub screw.

This is a quality bit of kit. Not cheap but at the heading says, you tend to have to pay for quality.Easy to install and once your recalibrate your esteps, flow etc you're good to go. It's reliable and consistent. Obviously, there are a lot of variables associated with getting a good 3D print, but I found a noticeable increase in consistency and quality of prints after replacing the stock creativity extruder with this one.

Edit: 04/12/2022After some time trouble shooting and getting spare brass sleeves, and somehow getting them to fit the inner diameter of the bowden and the connector, I would recommend this over others, but at the same time, I hate it.Major design flaw, the bowden tube connector part has a outer screw in with a piece used to hold the bowden tube in.If ever you have a jam and need to replace the bowden tube, the screw in stopper will be permanently stuck to the old bowden tube. Making it impossible to use a third party screw in stopper due to it being a outer screw in rather then an inner screw in.The product is great and all, but it is a one time use for a bowden tube.
