Ok, I bought this as a little bit of nostalgia!Everything works on a Windows 7 Virtualbox with compatability!I mainly bought this pack for the games! Russian Square in particular! all work great!I also loved the theme sounds and cursors!I wish Windows did more of this kind of thing today!

Apparently this is the "old version" but I couldn't find any new version.I bought this mostly for the media player visualizations and movie maker transistions, which, i found out after I installed it, weren't as good as I thought they would be.Games: It came with three games: HyperBowl, Labyrinth, and RussianSquare, which are pretty good, but I would waste my time playing them when I've got a Ps3Media player skins: It comes with a wide variety of cool skins, but one of them doesn't work properlyMedia player visualizations: the three mediaplayer visualizations were the dumbest thing i've ever seen.Personal DJ: Makes auto playlists based on artists, albums, and genre. I never use it because I prefer making custom playlists with media player.Speaker Enhancement: "Enhances" your speakers so they sound like garbage. Just use the equalizer, TrueBass, and WOWeffect medai player comes with.Voice command for windows media player: Pretty neet, but barely works. the music you play causes the the program to pause itself and sometimes go haywire.CD Label Maker: A great tool for printing CD labels and album art to put on your disc and in the case. One of the few good programs.Dancer: A little person that dances on your desktop, quite out of sync I might add. A useless waste of hard drive space.MP3 Audio Converter: works fine I imagine, but you can find ones 10 times better for free online.Photo Story 2: Basically the same thing as the WindowsMovieMaker XP comes with only worse.50 Effects and Transitions for Movie Maker: These are another one of the good features. But I expected them to be better than the transitions movie maker comes with, but they're just as good. There are actually more like 12, but in four different directions.Party Mode of Windows Media Player: This is a bunch of full screen skins for windows media player that look realy cool. Another good program.Analog Recorder: a program for you to use a microphone to record your old tapes and records. It's supposed to improve their sound quality, but I haven't used it because I don't have any tapes or old recordsAudo Converter: pretty much the same thing as the MP3 converter. Like I said, you can download ones that are 10x better for free online.Alarm Clock: A simple alarm. I prefer the one on my cellphone, because my computer isn't on 24/7Sleep Timer: "allows you to fall asleep to your favorite music by gradually decreasing volume over time to provide an enjoyable entry into a good night's sleep" Like that'll work.Sync & Go: Automatically syncs music to your PocketPC, if you have one.Windows XP Themes and screensavers: This is the best part, and makes the Microsoft Plus! worth it all by itself. The screensavers are no big deal, but I love the various XP themes it comes with: space, nature, aquarium, and DaVinci. I particularly like the space one. Turns all the usual XP computer sounds into high tech computer sounds XD.So all in all, when I think about it, this product sucks. But I'm glad I bought it because of the few good features it has.

I am very happy with it but it doesn't live up to my expectations.I also have the reg. Plus for XP and I really don't think the extra money is worth it. If I were to do over I would still have bought the Plus superpack for XP but not the regular Plus just because I do have a Media Center PC. If I didn't have that the regular Plus for XP would have been just fine.

Just a word of caution - if you're planning on using the Audio Conversion section of the Microsoft Plus Digital Media Editon to convert WMA files to MP3 files, this won't work out of the box if you have WMP10 on your system (you will get an error noting an "incompatible codec"). This is a known issue with Microsoft and they have a patch that you need to download from them. It's a small, simple patch to download and install (but you have to look for it - hint: enter the error message you get into the MKB Search) and everything works fine after you install it. Other than that it's a good program, although I agree with the other reviewers that, for the most part, this is a collection of enhancements that should have already been included with XP.

After struggling to install this program and getting an error message each time, I finally called Microsoft. The tech person I got was thorough but knew enough to know he couldn't solve the problem. His Manager was consulted and informed us that there is a glitch in this program and it can not be installed on some computers unless they already have Microsoft Plus!! So the solution they offer is to find a friend who has it - download my set on theirs and burn a new disc to copy to my computer. I think you will understand that I would like my money back. Please follow up and let me know what to do. Thanks, Maureen Burbage

I love the screen savers and some of the other applications but this takes up way too much room on my hard drive and slows it down. I have a huge hard drive too. It takes over 250.00 MB's. I had to remove it to free up space. What you get for the price isn't that good.
