To my mild expectations, it did in fact lock into my X-T30, and it does work with the x-mount system. It’s not perfectly machined so it might seem like it may require some very precise handling to secure it in place, sometimes having to rotate back and forth to lock it in place, but once it does, it works. This works with my normal compound microscope and has I believe the diameter of 23.2mm which is standard for the eye piece. Once it’s secured you can simply put the camera in and watch whatever is under your microscope but through your camera. Super cool. Construction of the adapter is solid metal. No plastic. One thing to note not pertaining to the mount, but rather to the X-T30 system, if you’d like to take video, the camera will not allow you to as the system won’t recognize a lens being attached. You can override this setting in the system settings to allow recording without lens. I just say this so people don’t return this product which functions well for its intended purpose. You CAN record without a lens. It’s not the fault of this item. So I gave it a 5 star rating despite these aforementioned flaws, why? Because frankly there is practically no other place where I could find a mount like this that would work with FUJI’s proprietary hardware. That said, the adapter is pretty good all things considered!
