These tests should be more reliable given the cost. Our nonprofit bought a reader and tests for use at group gatherings. Tests regularly return "invalid" which means a waste of $25. We have also received a couple of false positives as confirmed by subsequent PCR testing. We've abandoned Metrix tests for at-home PCR testing. The testing units are more expensive, but the actual tests are cheaper and more accurate.

I purchase these regularly to test my large family this winter. So far I've had FIVE tests come back as invalid from the same lot. Aptitude is replacing 3 so far and I'm requesting 2 more be replaced...but very concerning that so many have been invalid when we follow the directions explicitly. I have another 10 on hand that I'm concerned will also be invalid when we go to use them. Huge concern when these tests are so expensive...

This is an excellent system for those of us who need accurate test results, although it is a little tricky to use. It's worth reading directions in full and watching the video carefully. Even so, we had two tests of eight fail. Given the cost of the tests, that's a problem. However, the company was willing to replace both despite my not having the documentation they usually require -- something that I will certainly provide in future if it is needed.

Accurate and much more reliable than rapid tests. I utilize these so much when traveling and especially relied on them when I was visiting friends and family for the holidays.

This test kit was super easy to use with very straightforward instructions. I loved the convenience of being able to take an accurate test at home, rather than spending hours at urgent care.

I have several family members who are at high risk for respiratory infection, so we normally use these molecular (PCR) tests. With the holidays around the corner, I'm super thankful that the Metrix tests are WAY more affordable than other molecular tests like Lucira or Cue. We'll be able to get everyone together without breaking the bank! The other great thing about Metrix is that you can use saliva as a sample type. My children are pretty fussy when it comes to nasal swabs, so this was really a huge help!One of the other reviewers noted that this does not come with a reader. The reader is sold separately and is reusable (another great feature)! It's also quite affordable. Now I have a Metrix Reader on my countertop ready to run a test at a moments notice!I can't wait to see what other tests Aptitude comes out with next!
