Too sick for a 2016 Ford explorer. I couldn't get the door panel back on so I had to cut off some excess plastic from the door panel. Would not recommend

As far as the speaker fitting into the bracket it’s great, and it all fits great into the door. But the door panel will not go back on because the bracket is too thick. I’m not trying to cut on my door panel so I’m sending it all back. 2017 explorer

These worked perfectly.

They fit the factory screw holes perfectly, but should be about 1/2 inch thinner. When you install a 6x9 speaker, the door panel won't fully snap in place. I was able to secure it enough with the screws, but at least 3 plastic clips wouldn't snap in place.

If they made these a little thinner (by about 3/4”) it would be perfect. All mounting holes matched exactly. Trouble is, when you try to reinstall the door panel it won’t seat properly.

They fit perfectly in the door of my 17 Ford Explorer but when it came time to put the door panel back on it made them to thick and the bottom of the panel wouldn't fit back.

Bought these for front doors for 2019 Ford F250, unfortunately they are too thick (2 1/2") to mount the speaker on the surface of the adapters as they are designed. Ford has changed the depth of the inside of the door trim to about 2 1/4 inches. In order to use, I had to grind out the INSIDE of these adapters in order to get the speakers to fit INSIDE the adapters. Additionally since I was fitting the speakers on the inside of the adapter one of the pre drilled screw holes did not want to align up with the speaker holes, I had to drill a new hole beside the original in the adapter. I also had to grind down some of the inside of the door trim plastic around the speaker grille and even then it is a tight fit.Screw holes on the door side also did not line up as this adapter only has two holes on one side and a couple of plastic pins on the other side which does not align with anything. So I had to cut the pins off and drill new holes in the proper spots in the adapters..You will also need to buy bolts (with nuts), most speaker manufacturers no longer supply screws or bolts and this adapter does not supply any either. 4-40 machine screw at least 3/4" long should work.If someone from Metra is reading, they need to take note of this depth issue and create a new adapter with reduced depth and proper door mount screw holes.
